Hi everyone, I just dowload Beta 6 and it's awesome. Good work MW Team 8) but I have some suggestions for the final release:
1. Fire teams have Mortar Barrage support. It's too weak and you have to close-in with your enemy and retreat if you won't to be harm by yours barrage (kill radius is very large). I suggest to add Laser Guided bomb support for fire teams (have been removed in TA menu) to destroy bridges and high value targets. Maybe you can turn laser guided bomb interceptable by using the semi-active laser homing guidance (like hellfire).
2. M109 it's too weak compared to K9. I suggest to make an squad (3x M109A6) with excalibur support like now.
Thanks for reading and sorry for my english, I'm learning :)

Hello and thank you for your suggestions.

1. Your Laser Guided Bomb idea is quite good, it will be taken into consideration.

2. The M109 is for PRECISION STRIKES while the K-9 is for HEAVY BOMBARDMENT. They fill different roles, and they are balanced for they at the moment.

thanks for considerate my suggestion
also I think that TBM are too expensive, you have to spend around 60 TA and it can't change the course of the battle and are easily shot-down

You're very wrong.

The main usage of TBMs in this mod is to take out the enemy SAMs. Just one ATACMS will be able to take out an entire S-300 group, and this WILL change the course of the battle.

One tochka can't destroy a PATRIOT site, it will be intercepted by PAC-3
Can S300 engage TBM???

I meant one USA TBM will take out a S-300 site. For Russia, it is useful for other precision strikes.

hm i think you could try to make the
Sam support unit for russia consisting of
2 9m96 tels (16 missiles total) 2 torM1 1 radar
Cost - 1200 rp, the objective is to supliment the sam sites in missile war enviroment.
So in general you will set up 1 s300 and 3 such support sites. Also it can be as a feasable spam option (instead of panir) for the cp protection.

That could possibly work.. Or we could just add it to Heavy SAM squad.

What is the standard S-300 PMU-1 setup btw?

Here in US, a typical Patriot fire unit can consist of 6x PAC-2 TELs and 2x PAC-3 TELs (each pac-3 tel has 16 missiles fully loaded so you have 32x, but in the mod we only use half-load at 8x missiles).

Is it same with S-400 users? 6x 48N6 TELs + 2x 9M96? Also note that 9K331 will still remain in Heavy SAM squad in addition to this.

Now as I understand, with S-300/400, you can go up to 12 TELs (possibly more with use of smart-dumb slaving), and Patriot can go up to 16 TELs, but in real-life scenario, that is rarely the case because a fire unit with lot of TELs in one location is too vulnerable. Generally we spread out Patriot fire units consisting of 8 TELs throughout the whole air defense sector -- you could see up to 16 fire units covering a defended area (like CENTCOM HQ during 2003 war in iraq) with each unit having 8x TELs.

I'm not sure what the preferred TEL setup is with Russian forces using S-300 PMU/S-400 but you probably know more :)

As far as i am aware generic s400 unit (missile reg) consist of 4 fire control radars 2 low level cps 2 search radars 1 reg cp 16tels. The most basic unit (div) cosists of cp, search radar 1-2 firecontrol radars (2 more likely) and 8 tels. The missile composition is not known but we tend to put 48n6 with a single 9m96 package.

Hey saw that using a chemical strike was took out of the mod, but then I was playing and though hell wouldn't it be more realistic if we make the TBM's to have a special attack for a chemical strike. This would allow the support player to give multi-purpose against not just heavy defenses but also blocking areas from the infantry support, but what would you guys think would it make the support a little to OP (over-powered)?
