"Guardians of Azeroth" is a mod with a worldwide development team, based on the Warcraft universe by Blizzard Entertainment. In this mod, our team is working to recreate the world of Azeroth in all of its glory, particularly focusing on the story of the classic Warcraft strategy games and World of Warcraft Classic. In this mod, you will be able to assume the role of one of the human kings, elven counts, or murloc chieftans in order test your luck in the quest for bringing Azeroth under your heel! You can restore justice to Azeroth, plunge the world into the chaos and fulfill the prophecy that is the Hour of Twilight, or burn it all in the name of Sargeras. If that is not your style, you can also choose to indebt every living realm on Azeroth to your wealthy Goblin cartel. Every decision is yours to make!

An excellent mod as it is and it will no doubt get much better as more timelines, flavour events and lore options are introduced.

Very raw, not accurate with what was promised but the amount of work that went into it is notable, has potential.

Good mod, but need some balance.

Firstly, I'd like to say that I've not been waiting for two years for this release - I'm simply a Warcraft fan that heard about this through a friend about a week ago.

I've been playing the mod the last two nights after work and I've really been enjoying it. The chance to play in the Warcraft universe as a faction/race leader is great, and in a way it gives me a Warcraft 3 vibe. It's obviously not finished yet, so there are parts that aren't as polished. That being said, it's incredibly enjoyable - especially at a time where WoW isn't at its best. I'm going to keep playing this and keep an eye on how it develops.

Some things I really love:
- The names of each zone are very accurate generally speaking. It's clear some solid work went into research.

- The up-to-date WoW portraits for characters. It's great to see them changed from traditional CK2 human portraits and not having some external art instead.

- The mini events are pretty fun, and you can notice some of the tweaks made. The Culling of Stratholme and the invasion of the Burning Legion are great to see as major events.

- Getting to make the Horde/Alliance and invite other factions is great fun. So far on a small playthrough with the orcs of Durotar, I've invited different tauren/taunka tribes, Bloodscalp trolls of Stranglethorn and quillboar of the Barrens - it's really coming together!

Some things I'd suggest changing/adding:
- I'd love to see more parts of the Warcraft/WoW soundtrack added to races that suit them. For instance, the Echoes of War album has some re-done WC3 songs and it'd be perfect to get them in there if it's possible.

- Portraits for certain characters (I think it's mostly children) are given a Warcraft symbol, and I think this could be replaced with pictures of children of various races in WoW (if not, maybe just give them adult photos temporarily? It's weird seeing the WoW symbol in there as a character portrait)

- It'd be great to have events for certain characters/bloodlines to obtain legendary weapons/armour or maybe make smithing events give WoW items.

- Small corrections. I've only played high elves and orcs so far, so I've only really noticed issues with them. I'd recommend changing (or updating it so we can rename) location names, such as changing 'Quel'thalas' to 'Quel'Thalas', 'Quel'thalassian' to 'Thalassian', stuff like that. Small changes, but that's it. Maybe an event to become blood elves?

Overall, I'm really enjoying this mod so far. I personally rate it an 8/10 for me, but it could easily change to a 10 once certain things have been fixed. It's a fresh release, so it's bound to have issues that are cleaned up in the future.

Fantastic mod. Definitely recommend downloading it and giving it a go!
