​For many centuries humans, dwarves and elves lived in the likeness of peace without thinking about the stars and rarely looking beyond the borders of their own countries. Azeroth has been relatively quiet place with rare clashes of countries occasionally diluted by flaccid raids of gnolls and trolls. But everything changed when the great sorcerer Medivh had created a portal between Azeroth and Draenor - the distant and wild world, home to the countless orcish clans and other amazing races. Recently these creatures have drunk the blood of Mannoroth, one of the demons of the Burning Legion, eager to open the way to Azeroth and resurrect their lord - Sargeras. How the coming era of war will turn out? Triumph or oblivion? It's up to you...

"Guardians of Azeroth" - is a global mod, based on the Warcraft universe by Blizzard Intertainment. In this mod our team is going to image the world of Azeroth in all its glory, particularly focusing on the story of the classic strategies and World of Warcraft Classic. You will be able to assume the role of one of the human kings or test your luck in the role of conqueror of other worlds! You can restore justice in Azeroth or plunge into the chaos of the Scourge and the Burning Legion. In the end, you can simply turn the whole world into your debtors playing as the goblin' cartels. All decisions are belong to you.

FEATURES:

  • All the nations of the four continents of Azeroth are avaliable for playing. You can play anyone: from the usual humans to dwarves of the Dark Iron clan.
  • Try to create a new Azeroth empire which we have never seen before. For players are available wild tribes of murlocs and gnolls, pygmies of Southern Islands, kobolds and even wolvars of Northrend! Note that it will not be easy to lead these nations to victory.
  • Try yourself in the unusual role for CK2 as head of the people's republic or theocracy. For players are available Atal'ai's bloody priests, mages of enlightened Dalaran and even the role of the High Tinker of Gnomeregan!
  • Take a dangerous adventure through the ancient catacombs and tombs, as well as try your luck outside your home world through captivating stories and random events in the style of text quest.
  • Prepare for war! You will find many feat of arms. Many special combat units (such as paladins and death knights) will help you to achieve it, as well as your personal skills with sword and magic.
  • Players will have access to all classes of the classic World of Warcraft, as well as a few non-standard specializations like Loa Priests etc. Almost every class can be transformed into something less usual, for example the blade master or potion doc.
  • Highly detailed map of Azeroth where everyone can find many basic location of the games. Also the mod includes many regions which you still cannot find in the MMORPG (Kul Tiras, Plunder Isle, Tel Abim and more).
  • A large number of new traits allowing you to make your game character truly original.
  • The possibility to decide the fate of your favorite characters as you want.
  • Sea of fun and new gaming experience!

​Hello, dear readers! This is our third diary and the duels will be our topic today. The main part of any duel is the combat characteristics of duelists. And we will begin from it.

There will be five characteristics in the mod: health, physical attack and defense, magic attack and defense. The health level of the character is determined from his personal health level which depends on unique traits, including diseases, wounds etc. There will be two types of classes: melee or ranged classes (like warrior or hunter) and classes using divine or arcane magic (mages, warlocks). They are focused on physical and magical characteristics respectively. The first ones are getting them from the military and combat character’s skills, while the second ones - from the learning and, again, the combat skill.

During the creation of our combat system we were largely focused on the famous mod for the Crusader Kings 2 in the WH: Fantasy Battles universe. That is why the system might be familiar for those who had already played the Geheimnachtacht. Duelists attack in turn. After they choose their actions, they will have the final count in the next turn.

Every character’s action can dramatically affect the result of the battle: an instant attack, temporary boost, healing, skipping an attack etc. The system is very flexible, and therefore there will be a moment for your creativity.

Will there be alternative Blackmoor event chain? Basically after Thralls dead as child he would go to Blackrock spire, kill Orgrim Doomhammer, take control over Horde and after killing Therenas he would Crown himself King of Lordaeron.
I have also one more qestion ,do you need help with Lore and Story? If yes I would be pleased to help.

In our opinion, there is no reason in making such event chains. Why do we think so? Because the Warcraft universe has its own chronology, characters and their stories, so we do not see any reasons to forget about these things. Yeah, it might be cool to see Blackmoor on the Lordaeron's throne, or, for example, Leeroy Jenkins ruling Stormwind because of the special quest he completed. And imagine the possibility of making your centaur character the Warchief of the Horde through the chain of special events! Yeah, it might be cool, but only in our thoughts. When we will face with such things in the game, it will cause lots of questions like "Why this particularly unknown guy from the unknown province has his own questline?"
We think that such event chains may ruin all logic of the main plot of Warcraft. Moreover, they will emphasize some characters and give them advantages just because they have their own questline. We think that the advantage should be deserved in the game, not through the pre-made story. Consequently, there will be no such variative and global event chains for characters like Blackmoor.
P.S. The main part of the team is good at Lore and Story. Now we need those who can code for us or who understand how does the graphical editors work.

Will there be Nerubian subterranian Empire? Those spiders were there even before the Elven Empire from 10k years ago and their arcitecture was later taken by the Lich King so they kinda deserve to take place here. They and Illidan are my most favourite parts of the whole story.

Yep. Underground of Nerubians will be in the right or left upper corner and will be connected to Northrend through several entrances.

Will the Burning Legion be in the mod? Since the Scourge runs off of disease mechanics, I can see Burning Legion as potential replacement for the Mongol Invasion/Aztec Invasion.
