For many centuries humans, dwarves and elves lived in the likeness of peace without thinking about the stars and rarely looking beyond the borders of their own countries. Azeroth has been relatively quiet place with rare clashes of countries occasionally diluted by flaccid raids of gnolls and trolls. But everything changed when the great sorcerer Medivh had created a portal between Azeroth and Draenor - the distant and wild world, home to the countless orcish clans and other amazing races. Recently these creatures have drunk the blood of Mannoroth, one of the demons of the Burning Legion, eager to open the way to Azeroth and resurrect their lord - Sargeras. How the coming era of war will turn out? Triumph or oblivion? It's up to you...

"Guardians of Azeroth" - is a global mod, based on the Warcraft universe by Blizzard Intertainment. In this mod our team is going to image the world of Azeroth in all its glory, particularly focusing on the story of the classic strategies and World of Warcraft Classic. You will be able to assume the role of one of the human kings or test your luck in the role of conqueror of other worlds! You can restore justice in Azeroth or plunge into the chaos of the Scourge and the Burning Legion. In the end, you can simply turn the whole world into your debtors playing as the goblin' cartels. All decisions are belong to you.

FEATURES:

  • All the nations of the four continents of Azeroth are avaliable for playing. You can play anyone: from the usual humans to dwarves of the Dark Iron clan.
  • Try to create a new Azeroth empire which we have never seen before. For players are available wild tribes of murlocs and gnolls, pygmies of Southern Islands, kobolds and even wolvars of Northrend! Note that it will not be easy to lead these nations to victory.
  • Try yourself in the unusual role for CK2 as head of the people's republic or theocracy. For players are available Atal'ai's bloody priests, mages of enlightened Dalaran and even the role of the High Tinker of Gnomeregan!
  • Take a dangerous adventure through the ancient catacombs and tombs, as well as try your luck outside your home world through captivating stories and random events in the style of text quest.
  • Prepare for war! You will find many feat of arms. Many special combat units (such as paladins and death knights) will help you to achieve it, as well as your personal skills with sword and magic.
  • Players will have access to all classes of the classic World of Warcraft, as well as a few non-standard specializations like Loa Priests etc. Almost every class can be transformed into something less usual, for example the blade master or potion doc.
  • Highly detailed map of Azeroth where everyone can find many basic location of the games. Also the mod includes many regions which you still cannot find in the MMORPG (Kul Tiras, Plunder Isle, Tel Abim and more).
  • A large number of new traits allowing you to make your game character truly original.
  • The possibility to decide the fate of your favorite characters as you want.

Welcome, dear readers! The current, tenth diary is devoted to the theme of the Burning Legion, Fel, and also affects the storylines of several famous characters (not Jaraxxus!!!).

Well, what is Fel and how it works? Fel is a demonic magic and energy that damagingly affects all living creatures. If the arcane magic is an ordinary addiction, then Fel is a real drug. It is fatal for all living things: fertile forests and fields transform into poisonous and burnt badlands under the influence of Fel; sorcerers become the demons’ slaves, their personality corrupts, the appearance changes.

In the mod the poisonous influence of Fel is applicable both on provinces, and the characters. However, it should be noted that characters who use this demonic energy will not die of it deadly affection but they can be weakened. As for a province, the Fel impact here is extremely negative: the level of taxes decreases, the supply limit reduces, and the depletion percent increases.

Modifier “The Fel Presence” in the province is divided into 4 stages and it ranges from 0 to 100: 25-49, 50-74, 75-99 and the stage of 100 percent of corruption. Of all the stages, the most interesting is the latter: the provinces with it are so imbued with the Fel energy that the border between the Twisting Nether and Azeroth becomes thin. We will deal with the characteristics of these type of provinces a little bit later. “The Fel Presence” is calculated from several static factors like the religion of the province and of the neighboring regions (first of all, the demonic cults increasing the presence of Fel). Random events may also increase the modifier level and they also may appear not only at the land owner, but also at all characters who are located there. It is need to be considered if you want to prevent the corruption of your lands (what if your courtiers have already sworn their allegiance to the Legion?). Fortunately, your confessor with its abilities will help you to deal with it..



Now let’s talk about characters. The level of character corruption is also divided into different stages, but here we have only 4 of them: The first stage (33-65) – small corruption level. On this stage the skin and eyes color are changing, but the main phenotype will persist. The second stage (66-99) – the strong corruption. On this stage you will transform into the “corrupted” form of your race, your racial trait will change, your gods will definitely turn their backs from you and you will need to choose one of demonic cults. The level of Fel corruption will never fall under the 66 percent. The third stage (100) – a demon. Now your soul is integrally connected with the Twisting Nether. Like all other demons you will become immortal and, if you are killed, your soul will simply go to the Twisting Nether for restoration and in a couple of years you will be able to reborn again. However, if you will die in a battle or in the result of the conspiracy, or if you will take a duel on fully corrupted land, you will die forever!

Now we will talk about the demons’ life in Azeroth and about their routine: what are they doing and how we can banish them. In random events appearing during the game demons will slowly surely enter the world: cunning dreadlords will use false faces of rulers to control countries in their name; powerful destroyers and doom guards will raid across the Azeroth. And no matter how significantly it seems for the people of Azeroth, it will newer be comparable with a full-fledged and organized invasion of the Burning Legion that we will talk about later.



As you probably know, the starting point of the mod is the First War, the times of the end of the Council of Tirisfal and the Last Guardian, who will definitely not stop the demon’s invastion while he is under the Sageras’ control. However, you are not limited in your actions – do a move of the knight, become the servant of the Burning Legion and get to the Tomb of the Dark Titan before everybody else. By sacrificing yourself you can transfer the part of Sargeras’ soul into his fallen avatar and transform yourself into the avatar of the Fallen Titan. Lots of new perspectives will open for you after that… you will be able to summon endless armies of demons and launch THE BURNING CRUSADE! This is the earliest version of the beginning of the Legion invasion (it cannot begin before the Drak Portal opens). If Medivh has fallen and the part of the soul of the Fallen Titan is lost, the invasion may start from the summoning of one of Legion’s leaders, but for this your character should be one of the best mages in the world and have access to several powerful sources of magic: it may be the Well of Eternity, the Sunwell, and any artifacts like the Book of Medivh or the Scull of Gul’dan.

Also a question, will this mod have different timelines or just one (which is now in WoW) and further to the infinite? It would be really cool to start as Orcs in the First Invasion...
