Clan Quest Mod is an add-on for Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines that not only adds many new quests along with a myriad of other new features, but also integrates several other mods for the game, including the Arsenal Mod, the Camarilla Edition Mod, Companion Mod, and more!

Check out what's been going on with CQM 4.0 and see a new character preview for Arturo, a street gang enforcer.

Posted by on

Progress on the mod moves slowly forward! A number of different aspects of the project continue to improve, including finishing another major character's voice acting and animations and tying up a lot of loose threads with regards to the programming. More and more it seems as though the smaller ideas are being polished rather than the the grand schemes designed and laid out. That said, I'd like to introduce yet another new character that will be a big part of the mod's plot.

Arturo

Clan: N/a

Quote: You'll change your mind. The Latin Kings rule these streets. You wanna just survive, or do you wanna live?

Background: A hardened criminal but more than a thug; this aspiring, stalwart enforcer of the street gang to which he belongs knows perhaps too much about the shadows circling around him. But how far will he go to protect his brothers or secure his own interests?

Progress Report

Maps/Environment 90%

All the new maps are created at this point, now it's just a matter of making them darker and more thematic where possible.

Writing/Dialog: 85%

This has been moving along more slowly. It's perhaps the most creative aspect I focus on, but the one that's been least inspired in the last month or so. All bit characters have been written though, so it's only a matter of doing important re-writes on first drafts.

Programming / Cut scenes: 80%

This is the aspect that's moved along the most steadily. A significant amount of progress has been laid putting finishing touches on quests, testing changes and tying things into the overall programming / logic of the game.

Voice: 25%

Another major character's voice acting has been completed since the last update. I've got an eye for completing a third character in the near future, but I'm also losing access to the recording booth I've been using so far, which is unfortunate.

Models: 65%

Unfortunately, Lenuska seems to be on a hiatus from Vampire modding, so until she decides to return I'm exploring the idea of making new character models and skins myself.

If you want to stay up to date with my day to day updates, follow me on Twitter or subscribe to my channel on Youtube. Finally, big shout outs to Rogellio Camarillo (Yes, Camarillo!) for providing the voice to Arturo and also to Anchefanamon for her character concept art. Both these super talented people deserve your interest!

This is phenomenal work, as always! Thank you so much.

Do you accept donations? If so, please tell me how I can donate. I can't do much in the way of modding, but if a couple of dollars helps to keep you motivated and helps to progress the mod as a whole, I'd be happy to.

To all who are making this mod: Keep up the excellent work!

Thanks man! I've thought about starting up a patreon page or something, but honestly, I'm afraid it would result in a cease and desist =(

You are welcome. :)

It's unfortunate, but I understand your position and I don't want them to send you a cease and desist letter - that would be catastrophic!

If ever there comes a time when you can accept something, just say the word!

*gives thumbs up*

I just hope this doesn't mean that your quality writing took a hit, just that it goes a little slower than expected :P

And you are the only person that still trusts Lenuska in these shores

Nah, I've been pretty pleased with everything I've written so far, it's more like I can't seem to find the time/energy/mental place to produce dialog at the level I hold myself to. I agree, it's better I do it well, slowly.

What's the story with Lenuska?

Do you want to hear the truth? I've been waiting for antitribu for a lot of years, and when it came out it was a huge disappointing mod, if mod it can be called. Lenuska used the hype just to tease players with unconsequential results.

When it comes to antitribu, there is only one person that can be addressed with respect and that is fleshartish and his team (did he have one?). He stepped in, to fix the mess she was able (or unable?) to build.
I connected each day to moddb and the forum and all I did was taunting fleshartist because I thought he wasn't doing enough and I acted like an entitled **** (out of frustration I must add)because I told him more than once that the mod was a disaster no matter what he would be doing.
Then, after some time Fleshartish released a patch that fixed a SHITTONS OF BUGS. What did he receive?
Was he appreciated by Lenuska? Was it being thanked? No, he was banished from working the mod he was fixing (and he was fixing it well, I must admit).

Then I realised I was being a pretentious ****, while Fleshartist actually worked on something out of sheer passion and was used as a bugfixer, while I was just taunted by the passion I have for bloodlines by Lenuska, that kept hyping his stuff by adding on his website each day new features or removing them from the percentage of completition on the website he\she had made.

What is antitribu now? Just a series of new duels with unbalanced mobs, with no sense on how these npcs were added, a tons of bugs, and a developer that is still faking working on it while doing nothing and actually claiming to have a working mod, with passionate people being denied a chance to actually make it a working mod

Sorry if I don't trust Lenuska, but I'm salty as hell and
I will keep being so until he\she acknowledges that she\he should wipe the stuff made off the internet.
She\he doesn't deserve a single grain of trust and if I was a moddb admin I would have wiped the servers of her\his mod and I would have banned her\him and everyone even mentioning antitribu.

I think you are being a bit harsh. That being said I was also dissapointed on how things worked out for ATM. However you forget one other crucial person in the hypetrain that was created, and that was Marvin. If I interpreted it correctly Marvin was the public face of the mod, and promised a load of things of which very few features came to fruitition. Lenusk@ was very rarely seen on the forums. Also I never really got an answer from them (I asked several times) as to how are they planning to include these new and rare clans and bloodlines into the Camarilla storywise (although they did get a lot of good suggestions). It makes me wonder if they ever had a solution for it...

What aspects I was satisfied about Antitribu were the models and the new disciplines, but for the elements of a new story... well the only one I saw that Lenuska modified in the mod was the Ocean House and the new story that got was very weak and clichée. I could imagine that would have been the same for the overall story and Sabbat plotline if it would have been completed.

I agree too, that Fleshartist was one of the best things that happened to the mod, too bad that Lenuska kicked him out, but it is still her mod. Also, Fleshartist wasn't the only contributor whom they departed with.

So yeah, too bad about Antitribu, and I understand your point of view. I still hope though that in the future it will come out better. And still Lenuska is talented with Bloodlines modding, no denying that.

That's really too bad you feel that way. I know Antitribu had/has some issues (I did a full run-through), but AFAIK, Lenuska put in some hard work on the mod. And she's helped create numerous new models for Clan Quest. I know she burned out before, I think she has again, but I respect what she wants, because I know I have certainly burned out on Bloodlines before, hah.

Please consider changing the name of the gang to a fictional one. I don't know all that much about gangs, but I do think that they could potentially cause grief even or something as small as this. :(

Hmm, it might be a little late since I got this guy already reading the lines, but I see your concern. The thought crossed my mind as well, but really I doubt anyone would go out of their way to bother me about it. I hope so lol

I have to reverberate what others have said and say excellent work. Really well done character, I liked the story about the priest too. As for the gang thing while it would be safer to go with a fictional name, but it shouldn't be a problem. I've known a few people in them before; I work in criminal rehabilitation professionally, but I can't say I'm some expert. By and large gangs are far more concerned if someone claims to be a member and isn't, but having their name in fiction doesn't seem to bother anyone. Actually they tend to like the hype, being talked about, being known and having their name ring out. Happens in music and movies all the time with no repercussions.

Thanks HK! My limited experience with gang people is pretty much the same, so that's why I'm not too worried.
