I just noticed, the quote you used by Edgar Allan Poe is also used in Eternal Darkness. Good addition, I like that. Although the version you use is longer, I think.

I don't know. The idea is awesome, but I don't really feel like incorporating entire networking protocols. (yes, I know, HL2 Deathmatch, but it's a little more complicated than that)
