HRE how does it work? Thread - Victoria Ultimate mod for Victoria II: A House Divided

im GP as Brandenburg and trying to figure out the HRE i have most of the states under my sphere but im not the emperor do i have to form the HRE fully to be the emperor or what?

You see, the HRE doesn't work in the same way it does in Europa Universalis. The only HRE Emperor there is is Austria. So, there's no way to be the Emperor unless you're playing as Austria.

Vicky's commands are not versatile enough to make a proper HRE system. Since during the period of time the game covers the HRE was mainly controlled by catholic Habsburg Austrian emperors only Austria can be Holy Roman Emperor.

what happens when austria is eliminated?

If you are in war with Austria and you capture Vienna then you can dismantle the HRE, destroying all cores, I guess and the chance to form it. Not sure, only dismantled it, didn't try out whether AI would dismanlte it.

By the way, can Austria dismantle the HRE?

As far as I tested it, no it can't. That's why I created a small decision (no description or anything) for it myself, to be able to form the South German Fed.

I think it might have been specifically added so that you can't form Germany early, haha.

Oh well, I just thought that I should be able to, after conquering the whole Balkans and sphering all south german states and some north german ones by the 1700s.
