Crashes Thread - Victoria Ultimate mod for Victoria II: A House Divided

It's come to our attention that some of you have had CTD issues. The most common problem is usually the cache. To fix it you must delete the content inside (Victoria II/map/cache), (Victoria II/mod/Ultimate/map/cache) and (My Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria II/map/cache). If you've run the game once before it may also be necessary to delete the 'Ultimate' folder in (My Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria II). Another more unlikely possibility would be a problem with the flags cache, delete the content in (My Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria II/gfx/flags).

If crashes or errors persist you may also try this fix which was provided by a paradox dev:

1. Uninstall the game two times (Uninstall, Install, Uninstall, Install)
2. Go to your game directory/Victoria II/map/cache and clear everything in the cache, don't delete the folder
3. Go to documents/Paradox Interactive and delete the whole Victoria 2 file
4. Delete EVERYTHING in your mods folder
5. Go back to your victoria 2 files and scroll down to v2game.exe and double click on it when it loads exit out and start vanilla through steam or the launcher
6. Install the mod and start the game with it.

If none of this does it. Your best bet would be to contact Paradox.

This is crazy, from start to finish I cannot seem to get this to work. I will tell you my step by step process, but first say that I get the CTD immediately after the opening Paradox Interactive logo, and the process below is AFTER i uninstalled Vicky2 from Steam (and my computer)

1. Uninstall Vicky2
2. Erase the entire Paradox Interactive folder in My Documents
3. Erase all Paradox files inside the Steam>Common folder
4. Re-install Vicky2:AHD
5. Add the folders inside the ULTIMATE folder into the /mod of Common>Victoria 2>Mod folder
6. Delete the caches from both Ultimate and Vicky 2
7. Run the game via the standalone app (not inside the Steam program)
8. Select the Ultimate Mod in the box and press play
9. Crash to desktop after Paradox Logo intro

Time to apply the fork to my eyeball? I played 119 hours of Vicky2 it's about time for a great new mod. haha

EDIT: Fixed. Time to pretend like I don't have work in 9 hours.

Has this problem only occurred to me, or is it not possible to start up v0.11 without some files form v0.1?

Mod crashes in adapting history

I've tired both installations and it does not work. Crash on adapting history

Seems that the Beta V0.25 has broken my saved game. I found out about it today and whenever I try to load it after updating, the game crashes. Instantly, as soon as I click on the save in the "choose your country"-screen.

There's never been any guarantee saves would be compatible with the latest version. In fact you should always assume they won't be.

Well, yes, I understand that, but do you think there's anything I can do to fix it? Or should I just downgrade to an earlier version and wait for next patch, see if it works then?

Downgrade, it probably won't work with any other version.

I have crashes around 1615-1620, regardless of what nation I'm playing as, please help.

I have the problem that when i start Vic2 with the mod it stops at "Map correct loaded" (or something like that. I have the game in German((Karte korrekt initalisiert)) ).
I hear the sound poping up as if i were in the main menu but im still in the loading screen. Also the cursor has already changed to the ingame one but as i said im still in the loading screen. I waited 20 minutes and nothing changed.
I tried the steps of the Devs to even get the game started and that worked but now im stucked in the loading screen.

I have Windows 7 64bit. And i also have both dlcs.

For the sake of simplicity I omitted all non-English localisation entries in the new texts the mod uses, which means that when you boot up a game set to a language other than English it'll search for localisation entries for say, German, but won't find them, which may cause problems like crashes.

Try setting your game to English and see if it solves it.

I Have crashes during the game. I have done all things posted above, and I can start the game, but after some time it crashes to desktop.

What log files should I upload to get help ?

My bet is that some rebels or new country gets created, and because its invalid game crashes. But I have no idea how to check it.

I play earliest scenario.

By the way, what is the ending date for the game ?

Oh, and also I had few space colonists in early XVII century. Might this be a source of a problem ?

That's a cache issue follow the instructions in the readme of the mod.

I have the same issue and the readme instructions didn't work.

Delete rivers file from mod directory

I have some trouble loading the game. At first it would crash as soon as i opened the loading screen so i cleared the cache file. Then every time it got to loading rivers it crashed so i took out the rivers file from the mod directory. Now it crashes at map properly initialized and i am very frustrated and puzzled on how to fix this. I've been watching play throughs on this mod for a while now and always wanted to play it but i cant seem to figure out how to start the mod. I'm currently up to dates of Victoria 2 and have the latest version of the mod. Please help me.

What hapends with the download?
