Galactic Civil War rages across the galaxy. Darth Vader, seeking the throne, had trained a secret apprentice, Darth Acris to help him challenge the Emperor. After the Empire destroyed Alderaan, Vader struck down and destroyed the Emperor. Now Vader and Acris must consolidate their power and build the military while staving off the Rebels and other rising galactic powers. They must retain order and bring peace to the Empire. The Sith will rule the galaxy once more! Plenty of new units, heroes, planets, etc. in this new take on the Star Wars saga. This is Vader's New Order - Empire surrounded.

I think one depends of another. Executor can take of the capital ships and Eclipse elimaniting the space stations and giving support to land invasion.

I don't think you even need a land invasion with the Eclipse; press the big red button bye bye Rebellion, courtesy of the axial superlaser!!!

The Eclipse was just as capable (if not more so) of taking on capital ships as the Executor.

the eclipse is more than capable at taking on capital ships. the way the mod is built, that axial super-laser is even able to take out those damn droid control ships in one shot. I've tried using the executor in-game to go toe-to-toe with one of those ships and the SSD gets ripped apart in under 8 minutes. the eclipse only needs 1-2 minutes to charge the axial and then it just fires off one shot. this can be proven. so the eclipse is a lot more capable at taking out capital ships than the executor. btw, the same goes for most rebellion ships. the executor seems to have both weaker shields and thinner armor than the eclipse, because if it tries to take on more than 5 rebel CS's at any one time, it gets overwhelmed and destroyed. the Eclipse's shields last a whole lot longer and again because of the axial, it can finish the fight much, much faster. the only thing that the executor has, that the eclipse does not is a larger complement of fighters, other than that, its just a massive barge with cargo you wouldn't want to touch with a 2-mile pole tipped with a glass jar of nitro.

While the axial superlaser can blow the crap out of virtually anything the ssd all ssd's of all models should destroy pretty much anything with ease excluding others like the viscount so the fact theres something out there that kicks its *** I'm suprised and slightly appaled at but as of yet I havent played so I have no clue what ship you're really talking about but it better not be a lucrehulk or something like that because star destroyers make short work of them just in general storyline.

Well the Lucrehulk is not a super ship for one, and I'm talking about the Viscount for the Rebels and the Pinnace for the Black Sun.

Eclipse and Executor serve different purposes. while the 19 km Executor is supposed to be a fleet flagship/centerpiece, the Eclipse was supposed to be the final culmination of the Tarkin doctrine.

Executor is the most mass-produced SSD in galactic histroy. with at least 15 built, with more rumored to exist, they were 19km long and 4km across. the vessels were armed with 2,000 turbolasers, 2,000 heavy turbolasers, 500 ion cannons, and 500 concussion missile launchers, plus 40 tractor beams. they normal held 2 wings of Tie fighters, but could hold up to 20 wings of fighters. the also carried 5 legions of stormtroopers, 38,000 ground troops. to support those, they had 30 AT-ATs, 40 AT-STs, 5 pre fabricated bases, and all the ships to take them down to the ground. not counting stormtroopers, the Executor normally had a crew of 280,000 + men. the ship held enough consumables for 4 years

there were multiple variations of this SSD class. notable ones were Knight Hammer, Terror, and others. this was the most widely used SSD as well, as notable users were the Imperial Remnant, Zsinj's empire, the Pentastar Alignment, the Eriadu Authority, Warlord Drommel, the Duskhan League, and even the New Republic. the last executor, Guardian, was the only one to survive the Yuuzhan Vong war, though it's fate afterwards is unknown.

the Eclipse was the ultimate Terror weapon ever made. 17.5km long, it had 1 weapon that made it truly fearsome, nevermind anything else: an Axial superlaser capable of cracking planets crusts and targeting and destroying even SSDs in 1 blast. it's armor was so thick and strong that the Eclipse could just ram opponents and destroy them. it also came equipped with 4 gravity well generators. armed with 550 heavy laser cannons, 500 turbolasers, 75 ion cannons, and 100 tractor beams, it relied more on the superlaser/shields/armor to destroy fleets. normal aircraft composition was 50 squadrons of Tie interceptors, and 8 squadrons of bombers. it also held 100 AT-AT walkers, and 5 pre-fabricated bases. it also held 150,000 stormtroopers. it's crew, not including troops, was 704,000+.

only 2 were ever made. 1 was destroyed in one of Palpatine's own force storms. the other one was destroyed after Palpatine's final death. hijacked by R2-D2, it was rammed headlong into the galaxy gun, which resulted in the destruction of Eclipse II, the galaxy gun, Byss, and the entire Byss defense fleet.

palpatine also made 4 Sovereign class SSDs, with more planned. these were the production variants of eclipse, with less armament, armor, shields, and a weaker superlaser. all 4 were destroyed by the Destruction of Byss.

in a fight, if the Executor was in front of the eclipse, the eclipse would win. but, if the executor was alongside or behind the eclipse, the the likely result would be the Eclipse's eventually destruction. while video games aren't always the best at portraying it, the eclipse's superlaser could only fire about twenty degrees away from where the bow of the ship was pointing. so, if the Executor captain was smart and got his ship alongside the eclipse, the likely result would be the destruction of Palpatine's pride and joy

While the Executor was 1.5 km longer than the Eclipse, the Eclipse was much more massive. And, as Shadow0 commented, the Eclipse was also more powerful.

Well I was just answering the question because there seemed to be a disagreement on the other pic on which one was bigger. Personally, I prefer the Executor because you don't just end the battle in a minute byt blowing them out of the sky. I can have a long, hard fought battle with the Executor. And I like the ship design better.

But having a more drawn and hard fought battle icnreases the risks of failure.

I would choose the Eclipse as my capital ship so I can make my enemies regret ever facing me.

Thats all ;P

I'd just have both and destroy everything; that and they are both gorgeous ships.
