‘Underground to Escape’ is a delirious interactive odyssey, a mystical breach leading to an unknown world devoid of any logic, thus offering an unforgettable yet unmatched experience. Taking part in the ‘Underground to Escape’ experience is like getting into an exploration mission throughout the unconscious, philosophically engaging oneself in a never-ending battle for the survival of one’s own consciousness. Hey everyone!

We haven't communicated a lot since this mod has been made public on ModDB, but we'd like to let you know that we are still working on it very hard. The mod has recently and successfully been ported to Source SDK 2013 and our team has been growing, which is offering us more freedom and opens brand new perspectives as for the development process. And we are very excited about it!

We are working on giving the mod a unique feeling by working on an enhanced gameplay over HL2's one and by implementing unique stuff. Underground to Escape now features original new NPCs creatures, sounds, music, alongside with unique detailed environments. Underground to Escape also features a unique background story and plot.

We are not willing to release more media at the time, because we're at this stage of development where everything is still in constant change, and we wouldn't want to show you things that are not going to be part of the mod.

On a side note, we are currently looking for all kind of artists to join us on the development. If you are interested in joining us and think you are experienced in one of the following domains, please contact us.

· voice actor
· choreographer
· programmer
· concept artist
· level designer
· particle artist
· texture artist
· 3d artist

Don't worry, the mod is not dead. It's just taking us a really long time as we are students and a very small team. But it will be released eventually. There will be updates to help you wait :)

You really need to work on a header. If you would like; throw me a message and I'll design a little header for you, won't take long. Here's some work, nothing important:

Thanks for offering your help but we're not considering to have such a huge header with lots of stuff. We'll keep a small illustrative header.

It looks interesting indeed, I'm tracking it.
If I may, just what kind of gameplay might the mod have?
Is it kind of like a backwards Half - Life 2, where it's mostly a puzzle game punctuated by combat sequences? That would be a neat idea.
A suggestion: What if the player has a past that is learned through the game? You state that it includes philosophical implications, so does that mean that as the player you venture into your character's head?

Hello and thank you for your concern!

Indeed, the mod will be some kind of a backwards Half-Life 2. We're trying as hard as we can to give the mod a unique genre, by working on a unique gameplay, background story, plot etc. Basically, it will be an Action/adventure/puzzle game with a mixture of Sci-Fi, horror and comedy. Yes, you will get to learn more about the player through the mod but we aren't willing to say more about it at this stage of development. As for the philosophical implications, well, it's very complicated to explain. News are coming by the end of the month and hopefully with a teaser. That should explain a lot of things.

Stay tuned!

Sounds cool to me, as Outlanderz stated it looks interesting. Not many mods focus on philosophical implications such as this one, but when they do I enjoy them.
