Ultimate Empire at War is a conversion of Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. It aims to include four eras of Star Wars history: the Age of the Old Republic, the Clone Wars, the Galactic Civil War, and the Dawn of the New Republic in an re-created game that is more engaging on both the tactical and strategic level, enhancing gameplay and deepening it, as well as overhauling the graphics in the game. In short - EaW the way it was meant to be - spanning Star Wars history in a deeply strategic game with high quality graphics and challenging gameplay.
Yes, it was in an earlier release, I hear you say. But it is, as you should notice, a whole load prettier now! At the moment we've been making new graphics, AND revisiting some old ones of ours and Petroglyph's from years ago, to enhance the in-game experience. This is the first major edit off the production line; the re-done Nebula-class SD.
New:
- Improved hull mesh and smoothing
- Improved texture
- Light mesh! <-- All vessels are getting either new lighting meshes or improved versions of their existing ones. VSDs are looking nice already; but you don't get to see them!
- Shadow mesh! <-- should be very noticeable - it took a long time, but this model has a FULLY detailed, hull conforming shadow mesh.
(as a note, this is the pre-game render using Mike's tools - in game the lighting and shadows are even more impressive, and we're also adding turrets to its previously bare weapons emplacements, for your enjoyment in-game to watch swivelling :P)
