 Thanks MechMantis! And thanks everyone else so far too. Hopefully we can get together a team of around 20 overall from various places to really get the mod moving. It'd be cool if you could recommend your friends too, see if anyone's interested.

Perhaps you should notify the main Unreal sites (BeyondUnreal, PlanetUnreal come to mind...). I'll go around and post on the forums I frequent, see what I can get. Perhaps it's time to finally add a banner/link to my sigs. :P

Thanks Strangelet. Any of the other AFF guys interested? The more the merrier.

MechMantis, we've posted a news item on BU, but we'll post on some other sites too soon. It's just a case of getting organised really! And thanks for offering to help like that, much appreciated.

Can I join too? D:

Sure you can. We're not too picky about who we get to test it as we want a wide range of tastes, to get an idea of what the average view of the mod is going to be. But yeah, anyone with testing experience is especially welcome.

When we release the alpha, what will happen is this:
1) We'll upload a .zip file of the release to ModDB. This will be password protected.
2) We'll PM everyone who's signed up (or email those who have signed up outside of this forum) the password to unlock the .zip
3) We'll then start discussing when we can get games going. We'll want to test with various numbers of players, so we'll be organising large scale games (or as large as we can manage; we've not got high powered servers yet really) to small scale games, and it'll probably end up that little games will just happen when people happen to be playing UT2004 at the same time online!

We'll repeat all this later when we make the release, but just as an initial warning, we will be asking participants to NOT distibute or leak the alpha version to people outside the confirmed test group. This is basically because people who sign up for an initial alpha test realise that it's not proper release quality and will hopefully not judge it as such, and be constructively critical so we can improve it for everyone else. People who just happen across the alpha will on the other hand be far more likely to think it's a crap, badly produced and not at all polished mod, probably wont want to hear about it again and may spread their opinions to others, thus damaging our efforts.

But like I say, we'll repeat all that later. For now, roll up and sign your souls away! Err...I mean....no....

If you don't mind, I'll be taking part of the Alpha Testing as well. E-mail is SilentKai@hotmail.com and also registered for MSN Messenger as well. Thanks a bunch.

I'm rather interested in a test for this game as well.

I enjoyed your video, made me think of good times back in the Freespace era.

PM me or give me an email at supercowbob@gmail.com

BTW leakage is not a terrible issue on my part, having been part of a fiew mods with that same policy

Right, we're finally releasing the mod. There's a slight change of plan in that we've uploaded to FileFront for now rather than ModDB; this is basically because ModDB would take time to allow the file to be uploaded.

Because of this, and because of FileFront's policy on file uploading, we cannot put a password on the zip file. Fortunately, the use of FileFront makes this safer because it's much more difficult to find the file without knowing where to look! So, we'll send you all emails/PMs in the next few minutes with the download link. We'll then set up a new thread in the Alpha Testing board on the Forum specifically to be used to arrange when games will occur.

Three more things:
1) Again, PLEASE DO NOT DISTRIBUTE THIS VERSION OF THE MOD.
2) When you download the release, please take time to read the Readme file. It's a little bit long, but it's all stuff you may need to know.
3) When you download and install the release, we highly recommend you (after reading the readme) play the mod with no bots a fair few times in instant action mode to get a feel for the controls. We wont be running any online games until at least Monday to allow people to get to grips with the mod.

Thanks once again to all of you for signing up! We owe you one. Hopefully we can repay you at the end of the day with a great mod!! Go to it!

Oh, one more thing. We've finally decided upon a name for ourselves as a mod team - Say hello to Anomalous Mods.
