A progress report with information about a possible release date...

Posted by on

We continue to make steady progress on the Thieves Guild mod. We've been busy working on maps, models, textures, sounds, music, and of course code... Things are going smoothly in all areas so with some degree of optimism, we're tentatively anticipating an autumn 2012 release.

In other news, we are very pleased to announce the addition of a new team member, Onaga. Onaga is an experienced level designer and weapon modeler. He has already worked on several of our new weapons and he is currently building a beautiful seaport map. He comes to us with a great deal of enthusiasm, ideas, and expertise. Welcome Onaga, we are delighted that you have joined our team.

Onaga's mission takes place down in the city's harbor district. In this level the player isn't doing a job for the thieves guild but instead he's doing some freelancing. Our cunning thief has heard rumors about a mysterious ship that has just recently arrived from a distant realm. The rumors suggest that the ship is carrying some exotic treasure but the player needs to act quickly because the ship will be leaving port in the morning.

The player's mission is simple; he needs to find some supplies, a way down to the harbor, and a way onto the ship. The only problem is, there's a citywide curfew which means the city guards will be out in force patrolling the streets so the player will need to be extra stealthy otherwise he will get caught...That's it for now. We'll be back soon with more updates, screenshots, and videos.

I may have to dust off my copy of Rune just to try this.
