Darkness... My body hurts! Or is it my brain? The explosion! I remember it now. Maybe I'm in a coma? Or even worst, I may be already dead... Everything is so confusing... Zombies, monsters and ghosts from the past are filling my mind... Oh God, so many memories mixed with my dreams! I can't even distinguish them anymore. What if my entire life was just a nightmare? But it felt so real... Wait, what's that sweet voice? Sounds like a nurse! THAT is part of reality, I am sure. Now if I could just concentrate on this voice and try to wake up...

The Dreamcast version is very similar to the PC version of Half-Life. The PlayStation 2 version had a lot of changes, and tools exist to compile to the different formats.

Because the Dreamcast is a very open system, much like the PC is, and you don't have to install a mod chip to play burnt games, mods of games, or homebrew games. The Dreamcast was the first console to have homebrew, and it is still being developed for to this very day.

Well, you can play 3D homebrew games like Neverball and games that were ported over like Doom 1 and 2, Heretic, Hexen, Rise of the Triad, and so many games. Also, if you want to play 3000+ NES games on 1 cd, without paying millions of dollars for every individual game, then NesterDC SE is for you!

Remember, this is still a last gen console, and the graphics of Shenmue and Quake 3 Arena, and Unreal Tournament, Half-Life and Test Drive Le Mans attest to it, this system has ******* great graphics! You can still play many games online like Quake, Phantasy Star Online and many others, and these are all cross-platform with their PC versions! How many consoles you know of that can do that still? Also, you can use a Dreamcast Mouse and Keyboard with most FPS games and MMO's like Phantasy Star Online!

Best thing is, it needs no modding, and can play games from simple CDR's! Get one on Ebay, it can play games from expencive systems like Neo Geo and they work perfect and full speed! Plus, it also plays PS1 games with better graphics and at higher resolutions than even a PS2 or PS3 emulates them! Emulation is awesome!

Does this use any custom programming, or does it just work with the default Half-Life entities?

I believe there might be some code editing involved, but I am not a modder or programer myself.

More info can be found at the Forums where the guys that ported this and Paranoia and Counter-Strike post their releases.

Dcfan.net.ru

If you are interested in porting some PC mods to HL DC, please register at those forums and make a new thread asking for some assitance from Ovveride or Dreammatrix, they are pros at porting HL PC mods to Dreamcast.

PS2 port is not possible sorry, wish you Sony fans could experiance it just like us Sega fans can.

Look on the bright side though, you can get a Dreamcast on ebay for as low as $10! And you can play emulaters of almost every system that came before it! I play GT2, Tekken 3 and MGS on my Dreamcast all emulated BETTER than they are on the PS2 or even PS3!

AA to smooth out the jaggies and a much higher resolution that upscales it to 480p with a VGA box makes these PS1 games play and look better on a Sega system than they ever have on any of Sony's own systems lol. It is still a last gen system, so the graphics are great, and to top it off, you get Half-Life PC mods on your Dreamcast! Take that Xbox!

I am not sure what the new zombies are from. I do know that the headcrabs have changed to a baby-like monster that "coos" like a baby lol.

I can ask Dreammatrix to come here and answer your question if you would like? I'll keep you posted.

Yes if you are asking if they are different from the regular HL weapons. Custom models are all over this game on both DC and PC.

I really love this port, but the only problem I really have with it is that I can't die on Episode 1, which takes away all of the fun. Anyone else experiencing this?
