The Veiled Stars is a single player mod for Mount&Blade: Warband. It is set during the War of the Ring.
It is a great start Jarvisimo, it may need detail but it is easily identifiable as Minas Morgul even though the daylight spoils the mood.
What design aesthetic are you ultimately aiming for? The movie look, book or just your own style? I did like how the movie had green lighting and slight ambient fog, but I would not be against any other look you come up with. :)
I remember that he had said this mod would be movie style
Daylight is because I need to set the weather to the Mordor skybox and lighting via the sourcecode, which I hadn't done at this point. Don't worry about that.
Aesthetically, looking for a movie style. I will be adding fog and green glow (if possible).
It all depends on optimization. I want everyone to be able to play The Veiled Stars. I hated that moment when I loaded up NW and found that it lagged on my laptop.
That also gives you an idea of how well optimized TVS is - Napoleonic Wars lagged on my laptop, yet these screens of TVS are on the same computer, running at perfectly smooth framerates. :)
"I will be adding fog and green glow (if possible)"Of course is possible! But hey is your mod you can do everything you want!
I have to say thank you SOOOO much for thinking of optimization for those of us with computers like I have! I can play Warband but NW lags quite a bit most of the time! so glad to hear this probs wont! keep up the awesome work!
now it looks like minas ithil.(minas morgul before it whas taken from gondor) :P
Will it have green shining?
I know there's a lot more to it, but this... THIS ... is not promessing
..... it's outright awesome!
Needs some green! ;D
put some green colour in the walls!!
Keep it up please watch your work a long time and I feel very good, I look forward to the launch (sorry for my bad English) :)
Make this Movie like and you'll be the King of Middle Earth!
I stuck some new previews up of Morgul with green lighting and darkness :)
