Story so far: 'You are a mercenary in a Merc group hired by a company to investigate a resent terraformed planet called Umbra. A colony had been sent to Umbra before your arrival , but the colony was welcomed by disaster.
As you investigate the planet you will encounter different aliens never seen by man. Scientific and alien weaponry is also something a sci-fi mod should have.'
There will be a Prologue where you get to know how the colony, sent to Umbra, were welcomed by horror.

for now....... Unreal engine or Unity engine version might pop back up soon. We're focusing on smaller project, as the group crativ3 productions has gone through a radical change lately. We have been moving around for the last few years, making development pretty difficult. I've tried outsourcing the project but with no catch.
But in the time that 'I have' been moving around, I've used it to learn new things. I've learned how to properly model, unwrap, texture, rigging and skinning of characters and other objects, and how to animate properly.
I've also learned that the source engine is not really the engine I should use. The project might be resumed using Unreal engine (UDK) or Unity engine. But it would also be under a different name, since the project might be shut down by the ones owning "The Thing" IP.

I was hoping more for a multiplayer: One person is the thing and tries to kill the others. On the base of John Carpenter's movie.
In the game you would be doing sertain tasks depending which person you are. This way some people will be separated and The Thing can strike them.
The take-over will be fast and brutal but yet stealthy and rather quiet.
Just like Morbous on Garry's Mod.
As of now its the mod is still under development. It might even shift over to the Unreal Engine through UDK. And if so, a multiplayer could be made ;)
But as of now I'm still working with Source SDK.

To tell you the truth I found out that the company who made the original game for The Thing were planing To make The Thing 2, a better game then the first. They were making the game untill the process was stopped when the company got closed at 2004. For ur luck they left us with some realy nice concept art, and I'm you'll be glad to use it: Thething.wikia.com(video_game)
