The Scandinavian war: Total War (SCTW)

The game starts at 475 AD, at the end of the Roman Empire. Barbarians from all corners of the world have finally triumphed and only a small part of the Roman Empire still stands. In North, the Roman outpost in the Northern Roman Empire wasn’t alarmed about the attacks on Rome, so they stand their ground, waiting for reinforcements. This outpost is at modern Denmark’s borders, and the Danes watched over the outpost. There was no conflict, and they lived side by side in peace. But all that was coming to an end.

One day, a small barbarian scout team detected the outpost. They attack, but were driven back. The day after, they return. The leader asked for a meeting with the Roman captain, and told him about the fall of Rome. The captain refused it at first, but when more and more rumours arrived at the fort, they knew it was true.

Most of the Romans fled the fort, but some few stand their ground. After a while they were hired as bodyguards. After some time, they were hired as trainers of the Danish guard of the king. The King of the Danes (or Denmark) saw their skills, and ordered the Romans to train a Danish legion. When the legion was ready, he ordered a full scale attack on Scandinavia.

Of course the other kingdoms and tribes of Scandinavia refused to give up and fought back. The Dane army was crushed. But not long after a new army was ready. At the same time, Saxons, Jutes and Angles raided the Danish coastline. And some Norse turned to the word of God and Christianity, turning against their old kind. The Swedes and the Finns was fighting a never ending war, and so the Northern Europe fell into darkness, into war.

There is no hope for survival; the armies of Man marches over the earth, and even the forgotten realm join the fight. There is only war: Total war!"

SCTW is a pure fantasy mod! It includes 9 factions at the moment (only two in the first version) with a lot of new units.
