As you've probably figured out, Red Wars is no longer being actively developed. Its hard to code away for 9 hours a day then come home and code just for fun. However instead of dying and disappearing off the face of the earth, we are going to publicly release the UNFINISHED 1.7 module system and module folder for you all to have fun with.

-What does this mean?-

You are free to make your own sub mods for Red Wars and use any of the CODE in your own projects. You can not however use our art assets in other mods. This is mainly because the permission for the assets isn't ours to give. In many cases the models aren't ours, but the textures are, and vice versa. See our credits list for more info.

-Tips for getting started-

If you're interested on how to get started with this warband modding thing this is how I started. 
There are also plenty of resources on the TaleWorlds forums, and a QA thread were people are
 mostly glad to help you out.

  • Add a few weapons, armors, and troops in a GUI editor like Morghs Warband Editor.
  • Once you're comfortable with that, try doing the same in a .py file
  • Move on to adding some slightly more advanced features, like custom bandit party and spawn points for that party.
  • If you can make that far, you can likely go anywhere you set your mind to.

Thank you all for shooting the shit with us the past few years. Developing this mod was a lot of work but a 
lot of fun as well, and we will always look back at it as a high point in our game development careers. 
You guys were great, and helped make Red Wars so great. Hate getting emotional, but if you truly love 
something its best to set it free, which is exactly what we are doing with Red Wars.

We wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors.

this is a good idea, instead of letting mods simply just remain unfinished piles of code on someone's harddrive, you give it all to the community for us to fiddle with

I'd try taking it up, but im on ****in dial up. Im full of ideas and ive read a good bit of interwar history, so I might could be of some help in weapons and uniforms
