Tell me about it. :) I'm hoping it's a moddb problem, and not the video.

Well, in the meantime, just watch it on youtube - there's a link to it on our news page.

Indeed. I was gonna say the same thing. The animations are really amazing and very true to the original style. I wasn't aware this mod is a unified attempt at creating the greatest Matrix experience ever, but it looks like it can hold up to this promise.

Good luck. Great news!

Thanks guys - yes, we spent quite a lot of time on the animation and camerawork.

The Matrix 'style' is characterised by a lot of visual body movements - often dramatically frozen or slowed down like a comic or anime (such as Neo's limbo-like bullet dodge; Trinity's crane flykick; the various kung fu stances and taunts that appear throughout). Because Bullet-Time featured prominately in the films, we got a real opportunity to study some of those 'signature' moves in detail(frame-by-frame, studying different takes, camera angles, the CGI animation, etc). Also, Max Payne has some great camera and slow-motion controls, so we could really play around with slowing down time on particular frames, etc - to make it just like the film.

Of course, it would be wise to keep your expectations realistic - this is still a mod, after all. The production values and resources are no where near that of a commercial game. The goal is simply to give Max Payne what it's been dying for since it came out - a half-decent Matrix mod.

Description

New trailer for The Real World, a Max Payne modification. Not sure if this one shows off anything especially new, but there's footage of the lobby, subway, and streets levels. Thanks for viewing.
