Been working on a new Sith Ship model. This is the Sith Patrol cruiser, a corvette designed to engage small enemy cruisers and star fighters.Its armed with 12 double laser batteries, 8 on top, 4 underneath, and 4 turbolasers, for engaging larger craft. It will be able to divert all power to its 4 heavy guns, resulting in a devastating blast of power.
P.S I'm still very new to 3ds Max so constructive advice and tips would be greatly appreciated
Constructive advice... It is boxy :D It needs more curves, like on the edges. You can take a look on the Sith Troop Transport, that can help you out in the design to amke it more... "Sithy" :D
The engines are too exposed, they should be moved/shortened closer to the hull, and maybe add a... panels above or on the sides. On the sides it may be curved, like the top vertexes will be from the side point of view (looking on the ship from left or right) in the level of the end of engine, and the bottom vertexes will be more closer to the hull.
Also, I would make another... level on the sides of the ship and there put soem of the turrets, so there may be two turrets on bottom level, two on middle level and two on top level ("roof"). Also than the turrets may be larger, they look pretty small so like this they may be enlarged.
The turbolasers... I suppose these are the barrels running to the front around the bridge section, right? Hmm... the idea isnt bad, but they seem to be too long, so I would shorten them, and maybe place the cannons on the "neck", kind of like AT-AT has, maybe these turbolasers can be made to rotate into some extent, but still only being able to fire forward.
And to make it more like the Resurgent Sith Empire, maybe add a "wings" on the back, not too large, just place them there.
This is by no means the final version. I'm working all day tomorrow, but Friday NZ time (Thursday for the USA I think) I will do some serious work on it
:) The blocky-design needs a lot of work, and as Avenger and I stated, the turrets are really small :)
I would just make the guns a little more noticeable (just a little) other than that great work :)
btw where did you get 3d max? did you have to pay for it?
My friend's dad works for an architectural firm so I'm able to use his personal copy. It's 2010 though so no Alo plugin :(
