You are a new member of the Siberian resistance... To the south of you city A-36 burns to ash along with the Resistance base of operations in the area. You are taken off the street from your home to fight for the resistance. The next move involves migrating the armed and the refugees to the Siberian tundra to seek refuge in its ominous waste. Unforgiving War and freezing temperatures await you.

Maybe there's to many trees for a tundra, just saying :p
They will probably add more later, but more you had trees, more your CPU has to calculate what you see with the alpha skin of these trees
Just spawn over9000 trees at the origin, you'll notice your 10 FPS :P
IMO, nice scene, the fog and maybe a little wind-storm would give it even more atmosphere and life, but nice and realistic looking :)
I don't think he's talking about how costly it is in terms of gameplay, but how plausible having trees there is. A tundra is supposed to be a region where the soil is frozen to the point where the only plant life are very meagre bushes that emerge in the summer (and often die in the winter), a tree of that size probably couldnt survive in the tundra :/
Exactly mate.
This is a village on the edge of the tundra, I can't remember off the top of my head where, but it fits with the environment. Also the so siberian tundra has MASSIVE conifer forests that go on for hundreds of miles in some areas.

Tundra by definition means the areas where tree growth is hindered by low temperatures.
You should come up with new ideas on how to divide areas and make them look interesting.
