Well i have finally rigged the simple bare hands.
This is an image showing the hands working on the "admire" animation from half life when you first get the suit. As this animation is made for a different model, it makes my hands look miss-shapen, but when i animate them myself, they will not look as unusual :D

when you first fight the zombies will you fight with your bare hands in the begining? or will you find a melee weapon like in hl?

You clearny know little about the source engine, im pretty certian it cant be done becuase of the way view models work.

You must have not seen anything about it either. That is a SOURCE GAME. Not a mod, its a licensed game... What does this allow you ask?
How about a completely fully open engine supplied by valve, and created using top professional game developers and programmers.
I am one person, and i cant do it. I've also never seen it in a >> SOURCE MOD << before.
So please dont try to prove me wrong with facts that are incorrect.
just because it is a game doesnt necessarily make it any different. it is an independently developed game which means they don't necessarily have professional coders. and it's not like the source engine limits what mods can do that much. it's possible to completely rewrite how the viewmodel is handled with what modders are given. i'm not saying that you should, i was simply saying that it would be cool if you could do what i mentioned above. and potteh, i was being a "smartass" on purpose, because when someone starts talking like they know more about me than i know about myself it ****** me off quite a bit.
just because you've never seen a source mod do it before, doesn't mean that it's completely impossible.

And you said that i should make this, and i said i cant, so why not leave it as that?
It is possible to do, just not possible for me and that is the main point, my other point was that is had never been done in a source mod, not a source game, so i was right on these. Maybe it is possible, but until i get the work from another genious programmer who has proof they have done it, im going to stick with my initial belief that it isnt possible.

Because you seem to think that this is somewhat an easy job that i could handle, forgetting how difficult it would be to pull it off. Thats why.
i never said it would be easy... nor did i say you would be willing or capable of spending time on it. in all simplicity, the meaning behind what i said was intended to be that it would be a cool feature i'd like to see. what initially made me think of it was the pose that the hands are in for this screenshot. i think we all might be overthinking each other's posts. let's just drop this whole issue. i'd rather see this mod without zombie strangling than not see it at all.

nice looking hands you got there,but if in mp the player model is different to that of the game will the skins change ,cant be that hard to code it in and skin it and please add a few combos just for more awesomeness
Hmm well i don't see a point in making multiple models for EVERY weapon to support different skins, hence why i made these plain arms to compensate for only having one model spread out over a selection of people!
