It has finally arrived people, the Lord of the Rings: Total War v2 Open Beta is available!
The Lord of the Rings: Total War or LotR: TW is a full conversion for the game Rome: Total War Alexander. It contains several factions spread among 4 different races Men, Elves, Orcs and Dwarves which each have a great variety of units and beasts such as the mighty Mumakill, Trolls and Nazgul.
The biggest new addition is ofcourse that you will be fighting good or evil on a completely new campaign map (credit for METW) this time, control the Fellowship in their quest to help Frodo and Sam reach Mount Doom and destroy the One Ring once and for all or send forth your legions to make the Dark Lord rise again. You decide the faith of Middle-earth!
This is the new installer containing several fixes.

I have Rome: Total War Gold. Do I need Rome: Total War Alexander for this mod?
Alexander Total War is required yes.
Damn this mod looks good, although i must ask why not go to medieval war? with all those different graphics?
Modding support for M2TW is feeble at best, besides it took long enough to get this one as big as it is. Its got over 300 units I think, imagine with the non-cloning how much work that would take.

Why that mod is not working without Alexander?
When i install and run it isn't work, i see loading screen, and after 5 secounds it exit to windows...

Vista won't let my do the last part. I add the -mod:alexander/lotrtw but it says it doesn't exist even though I installed the mod on the same folder as Rome Total War. Can anyone help?
