Here are the various shields the Haradrim carry to battle: the most common variant, on the left, is the Round Shield. Smaller than similar shields from Gondor but somewhat faster and lighter, most Haradrim recruits and light troops carry these wooden shields to battle. In the center is the heavier Cavalry Shield, carried only by the veteran horsemen of Harad, as well as some of the more conservative generals. Finally, on the right is the Tower Shield. Crafted from various common Haradrim building materials, these large but somewhat flimsy shields act as protection for the regular spearmen of Harad, as well as their bretheren from Far Harad, the Mahud. While Haradrim shields are carried by all but the pikemen of Harad, their weak nature requires the Haradrim to be skilled in offense moreso than defence, as prolonged archer bombardment can quickly shatter the shields and ranks of a Harad army.
