The Great War is a total conversion modification that brings the history, combat, emotions and overall feeling of World War One to Napoleon: Total War. We aim to completely convert NTW into a WW1 Total War game.

As a suggestion, I think that too much dust is kicking up from the bullets hitting the ground, maybe if you decreased it it may seem less like a barreling cannonball and more of a bullet. what does everybody else think?

Agreed. Feels like these could be a bit too much of a visual distraction from everything else. Idk how simple it is, but reducing the size of the impact clouds would sort it straight out.

The thing is that, before, it was almost impossible to see where or if a machinegun was firing at your units. The dust that is being kicked up serves not only a graphical purpose but also indicates that a unit is under fire. There is always room for finetuning though.

Because of how the animation works for the MGs (based on the puckle animation), we had to increase the rate of fire artificially by increasing the number of missiles per shot fired, so adding tracers would make it look like an auto shotgun. :D

Description

Thanks to the recent work of Josst/The Hedge Knight and Aanker, the Great War team is delighted to give you an immersing battlefield atmosphere with new blood effects, bullet ricochet sounds and projectile impact effects for machineguns! The player will "feel" the incoming firepower, and watch as the units of his enemy melt away under the music of warfare.
