Here is a tutorial showing how to edit the diplomacy restrictions in the new 6.0 update.


1) Download Notepad ++ Here


2) Go to the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Napoleon Total War\data\campaigns\ww1_main\Scripts and locate the file called CampaignSetup.lua.


3) Right click on the file and choose open with Notepad ++


4) This file is broken down into 4 parts; Treasuries (sets starting funds for beginning of the campaign), Trade (sets up initial trade networks), TechTradingRestrictions (which prevents some factions from trading techs with eachother) and DiplomacyRestrictions (which restricts going to war, creating alliances etc between certain factions)


5) Go to the DiplomacyRestrictions section and find the faction you want to edit.

The script format looks like this scripting.game_interface:force_diplomacy("britain", "france", "war", false, false);


This makes it so britain cannot declare war on france. You can either set the "false" values to "true" or you can delete the line of code completely. Then just save the file and launch the game.


**Warning**

Editing or deleting these scripts can cause lots of issues in the campaign. They were put in place for a good reason so just be prepared if you choose to remove them.

Oh, the force alliance script doesn't seem to work actually. I've done a lot of testing with it and it never seems to work at all.
