The Great Class Dash is a single-player modification for Team Fortress 2 that transforms the game into a side-scrolling platformer. Players will have the chance to play four challenging levels. Additionally, the levels are filled with class-specific obstacles, meaning all nine classes will need to be used to beat the game.

This is the first public release of The Great Class Dash. The mod turns Team Fortress into a platformer similar to the flash game Canabalt. The first level starts out with you controlling only the scout. The only control in this stage is jumping, and its relatively easy to clear all the obstacles and reach the end of the level. Later levels introduce more classes though, and in the end, you will have to quickly switch between all nine to reach the finish.

I'm experiencing a collision issue on the first level that renders this mod unplayable. The Scout constantly either clips through the ground, or walks through the air on invisible platforms. Funny looking, but not fun to play.

Hey Gear,

Thanks for the heads-up. If you could send me a screenshot, or give a description of where its happening, that would be great!

That happens to me occasionally. I spammed the class change buttons and hit noclip a bunch of times to kill myself a bunch, and it eventually fixed itself. It happened in each level. In later levels, what can happen is one class will get stuck, and the other class will be able to move forward, but if you switch to any other class, it will be stuck back where you got stuck.

Other than that bug (once in each level, lol), it was a really neat mod.

In the sourcemods folder in the Steam/[your username] directory.

Jinoru Mar 23 2010 replied:

I lied, its just the TF2 directory you have to extract it to.

You know about readme's right?

Ruppetus Mar 24 2010 replied:

You might need WinRAR. The .zip extractor built into Windows probably won't cut it for this one.

I'm having an issue not with the game but with playing regular TF2 after.

I did the exec MyBackUp but while all the keys are right my character runs forward no matter what. W does nothing and S stops him, but I can't go backwards.

There's a bug, when you use Bonk, you end up changing the camera angle, and then you cannot move. Also, the game can randomly make the ESC menu inaccessible (Had to quit by command prompt.) Players will not notice the unexpected sentry at first at the volcano level, fix these issues.
