The Great Class Dash is a single-player modification for Team Fortress 2 that transforms the game into a side-scrolling platformer. Players will have the chance to play four challenging levels. Additionally, the levels are filled with class-specific obstacles, meaning all nine classes will need to be used to beat the game.

Hey Everyone! The first public build of the mod has been released! I've also uploaded a trailer showing some of the gameplay, so be sure to check that out.

As I said in the last post, this game is a simple platformer that is meant to test your reflexes. You start out with control of only one class, but more become available as you play.

I had a ton of fantastic ideas for the mod, and got even better ones from the community as I was building it. Unfortunately, I don't know any coding, and that restricted me to building it entirely with in-game scripting. Please keep that in mind when you play, and hopefully it will keep you entertained until the finish!

And feel free to contact me if you have any feedback or comments!

Thanks!

Randomly remembered this mod today and managed to get it to at least run the first level.

Due to steampipe some of the locations have changed
cfgs now go in
"Steam\steamapps\common\team fortress 2\tf\cfg"

maps go in
"Steam\steamapps\common\team fortress 2\tf\download\maps"

and the materials, particles and scripts folder can go in
"Steam\steamapps\common\team fortress 2\tf\custom\dash"

Level 2 onwards is where I had issues getting this to run. Class configs will break the game so you're better off backing the whole cfg folder and deleting everything inside of it before you install.

The game breaking bug I encountered was that when switching between classes the camera would break and randomly go black with the only fix being to restart the level.

I've run into this bug as well. I've seen footage form this year of this mod working and was saddened to find that the mod is now broken.

I even can't explain by words how incredible this looks! I hope you get coders and the mod finished some day, 'cause I see even dayZ kind of potential in this!

I'd love to play this mod. It looks revolutionary.

Now if only it wasn't in a RAR....

(and before you tell me -- I've tried to use the kriffing trial. it refuses to run for me. I prefer to use ZIP, which is free for more than 30 days)

Where would you like to begin? The visual throw up of cute with subtly bizzare violence? The repetitive gameplay (I've played Galaxy 1. I'm still waiting for the part where it makes sense and is entertaining) that reviewers only seem to complain about when it is in other games (such as Madness Returns, where reviewers were all to happy to complain about the platforming controls they've been giving 9/10 to for the past 10+ years).
