Take on the role of an operative in the Hex Gen network, a decentralized movement of hacktivists resisting the economic pillaging conducted by the unholy alliances of Big Tech, Big Military, and Big Finance. Think "The Windup Girl" meets "Neuromancer". Features: -Facial, vocal biometric capture devices -"Nohface" electronic face projector for thwarting surveillance/drones which cover almost every inch of city -Wireless internet -Darknets - all web activity is fully surveilled, you need stealth not only in meatspace but in cyberspace -More types of hacking - cryptography, DDoS, spoofing -Hunger: experience real economic destitution as you slowly die of starvation and are forced to beg, steal, or even kill for a piece of bread. -DIY: Upgrade your hemp trenchcoat with solar trim, syphon electricity from the private power grid, take apart old phones and radios to hack together an EMP gun, set up a hydroponic garden in your squatted flat so you don't have to kill for every meal.

Enter the competition to design the new Hex Gen logo for Terminus Machina and some big updates with regards to the hacking in game.

I've been layering and vivid-lighting and brightness/contrasting away in Photoshop for days but I've been having trouble coming up with a logo for the fictional hacktivist group "Hex Gen" in my game. Thusly, I've decided to launch a design competition for the Hex Gen logo. If anyone wants to participate, just post/send me a pic of your logo design. From the mod description: "You are an operative in the Hex Gen network, a decentralized movement of hacktivists resisting the economic pillaging conducted by the unholy alliances of Big Tech, Big Military, and Big Finance. United over a loose constellation of ad-hoc mesh-internets, Hex Gen (AKA Generation Hex) are a new class of freedom fighter. Though necessarily shrouded in secrecy, Hex Gen thus far is the only group to have carried out successful attacks against the Plutos. They've dealt crippling DDoS attacks to crooked corporations, tanked corrupt investment banks with electronic financial manipulation and successfully taken control of drones and androids in the armies of CyberSec -- the leading "counter-insurgency" military/law enforcement contractor. Still, some believe they're just a gang of criminals and thieves in it for their own profit. Perhaps time will tell."

My latest logo rough draft:

Also included here is a prototype for the "Hacking" interface. As outlined in Terminus Machina's description, there will be a more in-depth hacking in this mod. Firstly, unlike DX, you will now be able to connect wirelessly to networks whose cell towers/routers/mesh network nodes you are in range of. When you are within range, a network will appear in the list, along with its details such as encryption type. Many networks will be secured, though it will be possible to hack into some networks if you have the skills/vulnerabilities, etc. However, the player will soon discover that some ICE should remain frozen, as if you attempt to connect to certain networks, your robotic enemies will quickly be able to pinpoint your location and rain hellfire and/or carpetbombings upon you.

From here you will also be able to plan and execute various types of hacking attacks. Spoofing can be accomplished if you have a jammer and the signatures of enemy broadcasts/handshakes, allowing you to trick a system/robot/drone into believing you are its ranking officer. Botnets, vast armies of covertly manipulated computers which are infected through malware/social engineering, etc, can be used to perform Brute-Force security-bypasses and DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks on enemy systems both local and global.

Lastly is the Hex Gen "Operations" board. This is a list of active operations, that is attacks on corporations, governments, corporate-states, global cabals, individuals, and generally any entity which Hex Gen has deemed deserving of its wrath. You may choose to participate in any of these operations in cyberspace, and some of these will have direct impacts in your "meatspace" game. For example, if you participate in a cyberwarfare attack against CyberSec while you are fighting their armies locally, there might be a severe glitch or disruption in all of the units in their counter-insurgency cloud.

Some other ideas for inclusion but which could easily spiral into feature-overload (as if that's not already happened) is a messageboard/chatroom type feature, or some way to interact with other Hex Gen members online, possibly through Datalink conversations if not IRC.
