This is an extended version of Cyberblutch's Rebirth Beta 01 Mod. The extensions were either released by Cyberblutch himself (like the monkeys) or taken from a fanmission that he had contributed a model to (like the rumbler) or are modifications by other parties. The current version is Beta 04, see the homepage for a download.
The new models are quite frankly horrible. Especially the cyborg midwife which originally was an old haggered looking woman more machine then human. In this version it looks like some kind of wierd cyborg porn, nipples and all. Worse still the animations for deaths literally fall flat. Avoid this at all costs, there are mods that replace the textures of effects and the environment use those instead.
Great pack. My only issue with it is the female drone, as her purely-human parts are too, um, "seductive." It's hard to find a word to capture what's in my mind, especially when large chunks of her are mechanical. lol Anyway, I'm sure you know what I mean by looking at the screenshots of her. Otherwise, a big step up from the original meshes. There's also a TERRIFIC texture pack out there that is a MUST HAVE.
Sorry, but this is just awful. The new models look totally out of place and even funny...nowhere as close as the original model's creepyness, and then there's also the issue of the models being badly scaled to the game's environment. A combination of SHTUP and the original models is IMO the best way to play SS2.
One of the first mods you need to install if you're going to replay this classic.
used and loved this mod, adds to the atmosphere and general paranoia that is the dark and watched corridors of SS2
Too big style change.
Looks way too cartoony and out of place.
Ruins the aesthetic of the original game.
No doubts, that this kind of pack is needed - like the AvP redux.
But it's a pity that it's made so slowly (((
