Star Wars Conquest is a Mount&Blade; module which transforms a medieval world into the far, far away galaxy... with the same premises than the original game, this module offers an open sandbox where the player can do anything he wants. Based on a Galactic map and hundreds of planets.

This is work-in-progress, please ignore the grey-medieval compass... ;)

It'd be nice to have a small opaque overlay over the grid.

It is a little more complex than that ;)

[!] Caution: Boring things below.
The grid is a tiled terrain image, so it cannot be ovelayed, later I did a mesh and atached to an icon in the center of the map... when the camera moves a little from the center the mesh disapears, sh*t!... the same thing with a particle system attachedt... finally I included the galaxy plane in the skybox, but M&B has not multi-material skybox support (invisible galaxy again), so trial-and-error... thats the cause of the Galactic Map without galaxy.

The solution: The starfield and the galaxy are the same texture/material, a little tricky but it works...

Hope it sounds a little understandable :|

Yeah, the galaxy is misplaced, I only want to show yuo that is possible, scale is not really a problem.

It looks great, though I've got to wonder: Is it very hard to see parties when they're over the bright patches?

I've changed the transparency and color to make it more subtle, and eye harmless :P

Thanks for the smart comment...

Description

I've done that some days ago... it's an almost finished galaxy... adding that kind of mesh in the map is not natively implemented, so what you see requires lots of work and tweaking all the modable details.

What did you think about?
