One of the things I'm really looking forward to in SWC: Warband is lord defections. Though it ought to be tweaked in SWC so that each named character can only defect once; once they do so they're locked into that faction.

But I'd like to see defections expanded upon. Instead of all the lords from a defeated faction being despawned and removed from the game, they become wandering characters: you can see them alone in their party hiding out on the fringes of the galaxy, or traveling to various planets when their supplies run out, or hanging out wearing a disguise on the surface of minor and major planets.

You could recruit them and resurrect their faction with yourself as it's head. Or attempt to capture them for the bounty. Also, if they stay in one place for too long they run the risk of being found and killed by a bounty hunter, with a small percent chance each month.

Once a faction is defeated, all the lords which are prisoner would have a 50/50 chance of being executed or escaping. At the end of each month any named characters who are prisoners would have a 5% chance of being executed, and of course the usual % chance every day of escaping.
