Okay it's probably been suggested before but this suggestion thread's looking a bit bare so I'd like to suggest Gran - my favourite race in the star wars universe and more building in villages, towns and castles :). Some suggestions for building types would be "Shield Generator - longer time sieging" "Bank - banking features in your town" "Nerf Pen - increase productivity of village" "Garrison - allows you to garrison troops in village". That's all I could think of right now but sure other people could add some ideas :)

Interesting thing about the buildings. And..., for what I've read, you'll get happy when you see some of the new stuff we are getting in. I cannot yet say anything about it, but I suggest you stay tunned for the next teaser.

Wow really? I'm so excited now! :D!

Aug 17 2010 Anchor

maybe you can insert other human like races, like Duros.

Yes, we could. In fact, though it's not on any list we want to include more races. The problem is that we have a lot of other things to do.

But I can tell you that personally I would like to see Duros. They were quite important in Kotor and appeared on the Mos Eisley cantine on Episode IV.

Aug 22 2010 Anchor

Hehe wow yiyangchen, that's quite a list :P. I just have to ask, in what way would that help, if anything that'd make things 10x harder :P! Why not just select a list of about 10 (MAX!) races you'd like to see? I think the main one's that people want to see are Gran (okay just me then? :P), Duros and Zabrak. And maybe those one's with the arse faces. The one in Episode IV who got his arm cut off by Obi Wan :P?

Ohhhh... That's a nice list, but I can state we are not going to have that many. But maybe some more like Gran, Duros, Neimodian... perhaps.

How about drug factory at Nal Hutta? It can make drugs which will to cost very much expensive. The only way you can to possess it is to complete the quest to kill the owner of this factory. Is it possible to do like that?

I supose. Maybe that's not the way, but we should certainly do smth about the drug dealing. Maybe unlimited mini missions of spice smuggling. But time will say, now we are on other stuff.

There is a sense to make on one unique building for each planet (except unique buildings for jedi, sith, clones, etc.)? I mean one would give bonuses for economy, others for army, the third for an increase in population and etc. to make a line of building\economy even more sated and to adhere certain bonuses to planets?

RevanShan

Dunno. Maybe for warband we can check planet management... But it's not a priority.

Maybe you can implement the Gand race or only zuckuss:because is not a man with a shirt but an insect-like alien.
You can combine the body of a jawa (dark brown color) and the 4-LOM head: I think that's fine to me.

Oct 10 2010 Anchor

in the future when u make the warband mod... will there been even more Races in the game?

RevanShan

It might have more races, but unplayable. Both MaB and Warband have a playable race limit.

by spice you mean spices or a kind of drug?
becouse Han Solo is a smuggler right? i always thought: what do smugglers smuggle besides people in Star Wars? In the brazilian subtitles they translated smuggler as a word that is usually used for drug dealers that is "traficante" (its usually used for drug dealers but the word itself isnt necessarily related to drug dealing)
i think it would be awesome more smuggler quests for the Hutt Cartel. and maybe some high-dificulty with a good pay bounty hunt. it's boring to get a contract, go to a planet, easily kill this dude and get back for 200 credits. maybe if you talk to a lord he can give u a hard bounty-hunt quest like "kill a jedi that has awesome stats" and get like 2000 credits. kind of like bosses.

Jan 2 2011 Anchor

Yes, spice, in the SW universum, is a term for a variety of mind-altering drugs. Extremely valuable.

Jan 2 2011 Anchor

Smugglers transport loads of stuff in the Star Wars universe - drugs such as death sticks and spice, people, illegal weaponry, stolen cargo, military technology and Imperial secrets :). That's to name just a few things off the top of my head

Jan 16 2011 Anchor

Personally, I would like to see Geonosians in the game. I think this would add variety to the races in the game, for they are the only ones that can fly (I think) and have they their special ray gun. It will be nice to build a droid/clone factory on some of your planets. Clone factory produces non-droid units. You can tell it what units to produce, but the higher the quality the unit is, the longer it takes to produce it. (I haven't played this mod yet, so I don't know if there's a droid/clone factory yet). Also, you will need blueprints for the units before you can produce them in your factories. Some blueprints could be bought in the market place for a high price (the ones you can buy will be for cheap and average units), some given to you by a faction/character you have high relations with (like your best buddies with Darth Vader, and he gives you the blueprints for his best units), you can also steal blueprints (some may be for elite units), but if you get caught while you try to steal them, you lose a lot of relations with that faction you tried to steal from and they may keep you as a prisoner. In the droid factory you can produce droid units, super battle droids, battle droids, magnaguards or droidikas. I know the CIS is destroyed, but doesn't mean their droid blueprints were destroyed. Maybe their blueprints are hidden somewhere, once you find them you can use them in your factories. There could be special/illegal blueprints, like for the rancor I saw in one of your videos, but getting the special/illegal blueprints would be very hard. It won't cost you to produce the units & their upkeep will be free, since it takes time to produce them, you ha to construct the factory (it will take awhile and good amount of credits to make) and all the time/money it took to get the blueprints. Your enemies might want your factories, very badly. There could be a normal factory that increases the effectiveness of your other improvements/region output. Also you can have a factory for weapons, one for armor, one for speedbikes, and one for the market goods. Let's say you make a weapons factory, it will lower the cost of weapons in your market and give you a weapon every week. Higher quality weapons will be given to you less often than lower quality weapons. This will be true for the other factories. I do hope this helps.

I'm confused. You say you have never played the mod, but still suggest what should be in it? How would you know it doesn't exist already? Geonosians are in the game and recruitable as mercenaries.

There are clone and droid factories, along with many other things to build in the small planets. However, these buildings are restricted to the lowest tier of clones/droids in the game. The way you're asking would be to access higher tier troops but with a long build-time, right? I'm not such an incredibly experienced coder, but I would guess this is possible to do, if one would make a building with a 3-day build and when the building is complete, it creates that exact unit to the planet/battlestation's garrison. I don't think the blueprints would be an option in this, though.

Producing the units without any cost wouldn't be any problem, but having that specified unit without any upkeep is sadly impossible to the game engine. A normal factory that increased region output? You mean like all buildings from Native?

As to the last point, the one about the weapons and armour randomly given to you, I think I've seen that before, actually. I'm not completely sure, but I think that the old China Battlefield mod had something similar.

There is a workaround for no upkeep units. You just need a trigger that would add back the money that you lost for upkeep.
