Same mod, different name, The Galactic Empire, the Rebel Alliance, the Black Sun Pirates, and the Droid Empire, fight for control of the galaxy.
I used the Interdictor model and hex-edited the Star Destroyer's textures to it and then just didn't add the gravity wells to the model. This was done WITHOUT any kind of modelling program. I'm still having problems making the gravity well bones not show the smoke damage.
Pretty nice.
<HardPoint Name="HP_Interdictor_GravWell_01">
<Type> HARD_POINT_DUMMY_ART </Type>
<Is_Targetable>No</Is_Targetable>
<Is_Destroyable>No</Is_Destroyable>
<Attachment_Bone>HP_C-M_BONE</Attachment_Bone>
<Collision_Mesh>HP_C-M_COLL</Collision_Mesh>
<Damage_Decal>HP_C-M_BLAST</Damage_Decal>
<Damage_Particles>HP_C-M_EMITDAMAGE</Damage_Particles>
</HardPoint>
Already tried that, I think it's because I removed the grav generator model that attached to it.
Okay, I take it back, it does work. I guess it makes a difference when you add HARD_POINT_DUMMY_ART to the type.
;)
Also, Quick trick I read one time when pff was still alive. You might find this interesting since you dont have 3ds max.
You can remove parts of unit meshes through hardpoints, such as....the helmet of the field commander. All you gotta do is set it to destroyable, give the hardpoint 0 hp, and make the damage mesh = the mesh to be removed. Iirc.
Already knew that one. Used it to remove the shadow for the Enforcer model so it wouldn't look like it had four big circles on the hull. If you look a few images back you'll see a image of a T4B Tank without a turret. Also helpful when you have a model with a million-mile long shadow mesh.
