Thanks to the invitation of the Austrian game culture society SUBOTRON Projekt A.R.I.E.L. is looking forward to discuss the possibilities of a creative exchange between theatre and video games in a lecture: How could theatre learn from video games? Is gaming becoming more and more a PERFORMANCE with new controllers like the guitar in "Guitar Hero" which not only makes people PLAY the guitar but also ACT like a rockstar? To demonstrate interesting phenomena in the area of tension between theatre and video games we will show examples like the SturmMOD and other parts of our performances as part of the lecture.
If you are interested in our field of research and are able to visit Vienna, Austria, at the 23rd of May 2009 you are more than welcome to join us at the end of the "Electronic Avenue" in the "Quarter for Digital Art" (Museumsplatz 1, Room D)! Start of the lecture will be 7 p.m.!
The whole announcement of the lecture (in German!) can be found here!
