The Tauri is only neutral I think. =)

If you want to paly as the Tauri, you need an older mod called "Stargate invasion" or "SGI".

There's an issue where everything modded says "String not found"

Most likely you don't have the mods enabled in the correct order. SGR should be "on top" in the list.

It's in the sample EnabledMods.txt that comes with the mod as well as in the readme.

Stars are always invisible for some reason. I see lens flares and the CME effects, but no star itself.

Also crashing a fair bit (but not for my friend). Perhaps because AMD? 6700XT.

Also, what's with the Ragnarok gaining like 300 shields every 5 seconds... i throw so much at it and it never dies. It destroyed a huge ancient fleet and starbases at the same time with hardly a scratch.

The Ragnarok is meant to be a big scary doomsday machine titan. It is especially dangerous against larger fleets as it can deal a lot of damage to many targets at once.

It is best tackled with as few powerful ships as you can manage. It also helps if you have some tools to counter or bypass shields. The Anicents are well suited for dealing with a Ragnarok, but it can be troublesome if enemy is cautious with it as it can be difficult to prevent it from escaping in retreat.

Well i had 2 carriers (level 3 or 4), 2 revenants (level 3 or 4), 4 aurora warships, and a few of those hull repair ships and 2 starbases on a star full upgraded for offense (punitive, defence and hanger with bombers)... the ragnarok ate through all of it in one go by itself, not separate. it was level 6 or 7. it just feels a bit powerful on the shield recharge. it's firepower is fine, it just would not take enough damage.

If you're using an AMD card, you should probably take a look at this article:

i seem to crash a bit less often, but it doesn't seem to be solved. the crashes seem random. the 1.07 of this mod never crashed. seems to happen most often when zooming in or out.

Turn down your texture detail settings.

The other option is to have fewer different races in play at the same time. There's a finite amount of memory that the engine can use and once you hit it, it has provisions to try and manage that but it can be a little unstable on some machines.

Replicators are a random event. You will need the requisite DLC and Random Events enabled for the game in order for them to show up.

They have a low chance of invading, so you may not see them every game and the odds go up the longer a game goes on.
