This is the Asuran Frigate Corvette Class texture. The texture was created by dotNfg and will be 2048*2048 in size.
Corvette? This really doesn't look like a corvette. It looks much more like a cruiser. Wasn't this a capital ship in the original mod?
Yes, this used to be a capital ship but was replaced by the Origin. It is still one of the larger ships and the only one of the frigates that will use the drone frenzy ability. Damage output is only second to the Gate Satellite. The colony ship (SGU seed ship) has it also atm but I'll remove that today.
Wait, I'm confused. If this is going to be the Asuran corvette, why is it a heavy hitter? I though the corvettes where supposed to be cheap, light, fast attack vessels, not large and heavily armed.
Asuran Corvettes will be fast, strong and expensive, we don't want every race to have the exact same class of vessels, each will differ slightly from there counterparts.
Ah, ok. Makes sense. The model looks great, was one of my favorite designs in the old mod. If I remember correctly I edited it's stats to be an early game cap killer. Glad to see it will still be deadly in the new release!
