A rail gun wouldn't make for very good artillery, if you point it up too high then the shot would sail out into the blue (or other coloured) yonder...
This gun is originally an anti-air gun, but really effective against heavily armoured vehicles and rushing infantry too. But if somebody don't hit the target, the slug really can fly very far, but its not counts a lot.
Because the bullet is very fast, your shot arrives immediately, and the enemy can't react in time, and the weather can't modify the bullets trajectory. So this type of weaponry really have many pros and contras.
so...it's going to be the same as how it works on TV?

it seems powerful enough to fight against goauld howitzer.
but how about the missile that used on TV?
