SWLU must be installed on top of an installation of LU. SWLU is incompatible with Mayhem and other large LU mods, and LU by its nature is largely incompatible with most of X3's mods. Do not use the plugin manager for LU or LU mods.
* If you don't chose to start a new game (which is perfectly fine) upon updating, make sure you see a new SWLU welcome message in your in-game message log when you load it. If you don't, you need to go to Options\Gameplay\Artificial Life Settings\SWLU Test Scripts, and set it to "yes". It will proceed to initialize my scripts and then turn itself off. You are then free to play the update! This happens automatically for new gamestarts.
------| SWLU Install Instructions |------
* Note that SWLU is unstable with Windows 7. It will likely freeze and crash on the loading screen. Windows 10 yields the best results.
1. Backup your X3AP saves located in documents\Egosoft. Ensure that there is no folder in there called "X3AP". If there already is, re-name it to something else because those are your old saves. SWLU will generate a new one upon first time startup.
2. Start with a base installation of Litcube's Universe 1.7.2.
- You can get LU here: Litcube.xtimelines.net
- Follow all of his install instructions carefully and launch LU to verify once you install it to X3
- You will need to install LU's core, 1.7.2 patch, soundtrack, and a GUI of your choosing
3. Locate your Litcube installation that you want to convert into SWLU and find its root folder called "x3 terran conflict".
4. Move the contents of Star Wars LU's terran conflict folder to your LU terran conflict folder and override all files when asked.
5. When you launch the game, the main menu should show a Federal Argon Shipyard and star wars ships. If it shows a Goner Temple, then you did not install correctly and are still running regular LU.
6. I highly recommend installing Joubarbe's Satellites Monitoring script, which is invaluable during the early-game and mid-game when you need to scavenge for ships.
- You can get it here: Forum.egosoft.com
- I also recommend looking at his "Internal Distribution Network" script if you don't like to use Saturn Complex Hubs
- If you want to create a separate game installation outside of Steam for SWLU or any other X3AP configuration, you can get the non-steam .exe launcher from Egosoft here: Egosoft.com
------| How to Update |------
For any SWLU update, you can either install it again onto a base LU, or you can just dump it into your SWLU "x3 terran conflict" folder and override the old files. Your saves should still be compatible but I would advise making backups just in case. You can always revert to an older version if you don't like the changes. I will always upload an updated full release rather than a mod "patch", to keep things simple. Your old "X3AP" save file located in documents\Egosoft will work just fine if it is from a previous version of SWLU.

wow this must have just been posted cause There's no comments yet
the Free Virgillia is a bit off in it's design, the pods on the front wing things are not liked up properly, the ship is in the wrong category, it's a corvette according to wookipedia not a cruiser, the pods on the front are in fact turrets not ... whatever you have them as, and the three things on the engines, i'm still not sure, cant really tell what they are supposed to be from the handfull of pictures for it. and as for where it docks its fighters, it is stated to dock them in the space between the bridge and the front wing things.
the pods on the front wing things are not lined up properly* had to fix a typo there.
errr, i think i encountered a glitch. and no i have NO idea what the hell caused it. so i was heading to mandalor and entered the xenon sector 2 jumps below it, i saw an abandoned V wing and decided becase all the xenon in the sector were preocupied on the oposite side of the map from the V wing to clame it, so i did. i fix up the ship and when i get back into my ship and hit "." to bring up the map to order the v wing to follow me to GTFO of that sector i notice the only hostile left is a republic v wing. ALL the xenon turned neutral to me. is this a glitch? or do the xenon hate the republic so much that by simply taking a republic ship from them turns the xenon friendly?
Did you choose the "self aware droid" gamestart?
If you set them all to friend in the global friend/foe settings, they will appear white (neutral) from your perspective. That doesn't necessarily mean they they feel the same way towards you however. Go fly up to them and see what happens. If they still attack, then it just means you somehow configured your friend/foe settings such that Xenon=friend. If they truly are allies, then I'm not sure how you did it, I didn't think that was possible.
yes i picked the self aware droid start, they were not hostile tword me so long as i stayed in either my hayabusa or was in my spacesuite. also can i get the discord link?
forgot to mention that i could also dock at their stations so i think that means they turned neutral. although taking a mission to defend a sector from them turned them back to hostile.
The discord is all over the main page.
Yes, the Self Aware Droid gamestart is supposed to be Xenon Allied. It just doesn't work 100% of the time. You got lucky. There is nothing quite like purchasing Xenon ships at one of their shipyards.
However it is a fragile alliance. Now that you decided to do combat missions against them, I don't think there is any possible way to get the alliance back.
weird cause they were hostile at the very start and didnt turn friendly till i captured an abandoned Vwing in their teritory, that moment was lost and they are mad at me again because i scaned a pirate ship in a pirate sector yet i can still request docking via the shift d command.
also i think i know whats wrong with the fighter balance issue i mentioned with the Tie Defender, the player side AI is far too inept at using the ships you give it control of, they refuse to maneuver at anything more than half the base maneuverability for any given ship. hostile AI have too high an accuracy even against evaiding ships and moreso with the slower firing weapons like the PAA or other race equivilant. it makes many of the fighters utterly useless. the only fighters that have any chance seem to be the vanila terran high speed M3s like the Verdandi, or the Spitfyre. (verdandi seems to be better though) perhaps you could tweak the player side AI to use the ships to their max potential whle also lowering the accuracy of the enemy AI slightly?
