SWLU must be installed on top of an installation of LU. SWLU is incompatible with Mayhem and other large LU mods, and LU by its nature is largely incompatible with most of X3's mods. Do not use the plugin manager for LU or LU mods.
* If you don't chose to start a new game (which is perfectly fine) upon updating, make sure you see a new SWLU welcome message in your in-game message log when you load it. If you don't, you need to go to Options\Gameplay\Artificial Life Settings\SWLU Test Scripts, and set it to "yes". It will proceed to initialize my scripts and then turn itself off. You are then free to play the update! This happens automatically for new gamestarts.
------| SWLU Install Instructions |------
1. Backup your X3AP saves located in documents\Egosoft. Ensure that there is no folder in there called "X3AP". If there already is, re-name it to something else because those are your old saves. SWLU will generate a new one upon first time startup.
2. Start with a base installation of Litcube's Universe 1.7.2.
- You can get LU here: Litcube.xtimelines.net
- Follow all of his install instructions carefully and launch LU to verify once you install it to X3
- You will need to install LU's core, 1.7.2 patch, soundtrack, and a GUI of your choosing
3. Locate your Litcube installation that you want to convert into SWLU and find its root folder called "x3 terran conflict".
4. Move the contents of Star Wars LU's terran conflict folder to your LU terran conflict folder and override all files when asked.
5. When you launch the game, the main menu should show a Federal Argon Shipyard and star wars ships. If it shows a Goner Temple, then you did not install correctly and are still running regular LU.
6. I highly recommend installing Joubarbe's Satellites Monitoring script, which is invaluable during the early-game and mid-game when you need to scavenge for ships.
- You can get it here: Forum.egosoft.com
- I also recommend looking at his "Internal Distribution Network" script if you don't like to use Saturn Complex Hubs
- If you want to create a separate game installation outside of Steam for SWLU or any other X3AP configuration, you can get the non-steam .exe launcher from Egosoft here: Egosoft.com
------| How to Update |------
For any SWLU update, you can either install it again onto a base LU, or you can just dump it into your SWLU "x3 terran conflict" folder and override the old files. Your saves should still be compatible but I would advise making backups just in case. You can always revert to an older version if you don't like the changes. I will always upload an updated full release rather than a mod "patch", to keep things simple. Your old "X3AP" save file located in documents\Egosoft will work just fine if it is from a previous version of SWLU.
Oh boy, let it begin... Who knows what I broke this time.
Hey man sometimes you gotta break some eggs to make an omelette. Let you know if I find anything
I installed everything step by step in the install instruction video, the game starts to load up, but after the X-wing loading screen, it crashes to desktop, im not sure where i could of messed up, is anybody else having the same problem?
Windows 7?
Yup Windows 7, is there a work around or am i just SOL?
A lot of Win7 users are having that same problem. Unfortunately, I don't know what is causing this and I don't have access to that operating system to test it...
Yeah a few people are. Likely it's an issue with Windows 7 since most if not all people having this problem are on Win7, me included.
Will the R2 units be making a comeback? And how about opening and closing S-Foils?
But awesome work already, thank you! this release is stable currently! :D
I will not be including the R2 thing because I don't like the idea of droids shooting lasers. I might be able to put them back into the ship models though.
S foils were implemented in quite a sketchy manner, using two separate ships and transferring between the two. They also only benefit a small group of rebel ships. I am not planning to bring them into SWLU, and am instead working on implementing a modified version of Cycrow's Turbo Booster (from X3AP bonus package)

You can get a Free Argon Trading Station in Legends Home (or perhaps even Light of Heart). The best way to get rep is by killing pirates/xenon in that faction's sectors. This gives rep on many orders of magnitude higher than completing missions or trading.
Come to think of it, I will lower the reputation requirements for trading stations in 1.2.4 since they are essential for mobile mining setups and make good early-game bases that can also be used for your reap, fuel, and tug shuttles. That update is over a week out, though.
That would be appreciated. It's taking me a bit of time to get to faction 6.
This might be just me, but the Separatist space (Especially Separatist CIS) Is filled almost exclusively by Paranid ships. (Sorry if I just did something wrong...)
Edit: It is mostly Paraniod Nemesis.
That is right, unfortunately. This is because the Separatists dont actually have a corvette-class ship. I left in Vanilla ships for ship classes that don't have star wars models. The Separarists don't have a TL, M6, M8, or M3. So they are forced to use X3AP ships.
Oh, ok...
I guess that IS the best possible choice until we get one. Great job, love the mod so far.
Hi, I have been watching Captain Shack play this over on his YT. But i wanted to ask. Does this download come with both LU and the star wars ships or just the ships?
It's a mod that bridges the SW stuff to LU. You need to install LU first, then this over top of it. It's all in the readme.
As far as I know, I installed everything properly however I do not have an option to assign a key to any satellite monitor. Am I looking in the wrong place? Or is it missing for me?
Edit: I had to grab it manually I suppose.
hello i've downloaded LU and your mod and installed them following the instructions, but the game crashes after the x wing screen. now i know this is something to do with window 7 users so i figured i'd post the error windows gave me after the crash idk if you can do anything with it to find a clue to an answer but it can't hurt right.

Greetings XenonArchitect7, i have a strange bug with the Gozanti Vanguard & Freighter, everything is fine when piloting it in cockpit view however when changing to outside view or getting close to an npc Gozanti it drops my fps from 60 to 20. I found a way to slightly reduce it when disabling [Glow enabled] in the Graphic Settings. I have yet to find any other ship with this sort of bug. I suspect the Engine trails for causing this but i could be wrong.
Still an awesome mod and thank you for your work!
All hail to the king!
Praising the king aside I noticed that a action Vi transport (TS) I purchased off a random pilot could only carry a max of 2 X 1MJ shields. This is low for even a scout vessel in vanilla so I thought I should mention it to you. I am guessing it should have been 2 X 200MJ shields since the action series in Legends is known to be rather tanky trade ships.
Are you sure it wasn't carrying 2x 1mj shield modules in place of the 6 25mjs it should have when full or something?
Also if you are sure, did you buy it when it was 100% hull strength or lower? I'm no x3 expert but I bought one 100% hull strength ship before in vanilla and got absolutely robbed of my money lol
Just looked myself out of curiosity, confirmed 2x 1mj
o.O
Weird glitch, installed LU on a fresh x3ap and then installed SWLU 1.2.3 on top, everything appears to be working fine. Star wars ships in sectors, actual sectors present. However, the shipyards are selling default x3ap ships and not starwars ships... any ideas?
That is not a bug. I never got around to setting those all up because I would either have to write a really complicated script or do it all manually. So my current solution is that you get the ships in special "star wars" sectors marked by the faction logos on the map. You can find the map in the "SWLU Additional Files" folder.
Oh ok, well thanks for the reply and keep up the amazing work. Your doing a great job here with probably what is a really difficult system of implementation. Godspeed
There seems to be a rogue pirate DP-37 in scum and villiany attacking pirate ships and mine alike. It's the only red ship in the sector for me, now, given I'm not on good terms with the pirates but not bad enough to where they attack me at will. -3 with 2% and slowly going up
I've found a ton of repair lasers strewn about, what can use them?
There are two repair fighters hidden by me in the galaxy somewhere. It's up to you to find them. Looks like you already found one half of the puzzle. Also, pirates will be glitchy no matter what because the game never intended for them to be allies. Sorry about how inconsistent they can be.
Gotcha! I'll have to look for them. Does that mean that the DP-37 is still factioned with the pirates? If I nuke it will it nuke my relations?
Just stay away from it. If you bring up comms and see pictures of pirates, then it sill belongs to them. Also, with relations at -3, I think they attack you in "core" sectors. You can build relations by killing Xenon in the pirate sector north of Xenon Sector 101 or in the one above Unknown Sector Delta (if they wander in) because they are a mutual enemy to you and the pirates. You might want to try apologizing to the captain about weapons error, or try going into personal\global commands and setting all pirates to "friend" and transmitting to all reachable properties. Again, this is a very fragile alliance you have and the game doesn't really like that.
Had tried apologizing, won't talk to me. The core thing makes total sense, I was in THE core lol. Alright thanks for the info, I have work to do with pirate relations then! Want those miners and other goodies.
Aw well, I'll have to deal with this defense platform and DP-37 forever. Positive 4 after crushing a xenon P and it's escorts in Hatikvah's Faith and still hostile with no way of apologizing.
So the providence Dreadnaught is inviseble for me( in third person).works in first person just not in third person view.
Pelta being a TL isn't letting me purchase a stott mixery m, wants me to buy a TL.
ST is highlighted red even though the Pelta can old ST?
edit#2 I'm just an imbecile :D I wasn't docked. I know I know, I've not had my coffee yet.
So what causes ships in a wing to fly over 220km away from the center of a sector? My miners aren't mining, instead they're 220k from the carrier TL, my escorts are scattered over 220km away from the satellite i told them to idle at and my pirate fighter wing is just the same o.O
Rolk's Legacy is the sector, if that has anything to do with it.
I have never heard or seen anything like this... Rather than me asking a million questions, can you DM me with a google drive link to your save so I can check it out? I may have created some bugs with the TLs a few updates ago. Also, as a tip, mining in a dangerous border sector isn't any more profitable than mining in a safe sector, and mining ships aren't exactly capable of running away if you know what I mean...
I've got a few questions about things in this mod:
1. Is it possible to improve your standings with a faction, when their ships come to your station for trading?
2. Can you buy weapon building factories and other fabs somewhere? In the galaxies most wanted start you got everything you need to start producing ships, and with the mandalorian weapon dealers you can set up weapon production from the start, but is it possible to buy, if your standing with the faction is good enough?
Of course, the answer to both is yes. These are basic features dating all the way back to the vanilla game. You don't get a lot of reputation for trading compared to killing enemies, and it is never a good idea to sell goods by letting NPCs come to your stations, but you can I guess. You can find where to buy anything in the game by using Litcube's enhanced encyclopedia.
I see, thanks. I am new to the game, i literally started playing x3, thanks to a streaming series with this mod. And I know it might sound crazy, but I directly started with the most wanted start.
Is there a discord for this mod?
Please don't do that start. It is more of an experimental challenge mode than a real gamestart. For a new player I suggest Imperial Convoy or New Republic Prospector. That most wanted start requires mastery of X3/LU mechanics, a lot of experience, and has no room for error.
That is why i am doing that, convoy or prospector wasn't really mine. I dont mind having it hard, after some failures, i set up all the fabs you got from start and now trying to build myself up.
So there is no discord to chat about the mod.
I still don't see how a new player is capable of pulling off the GMW start, but good luck anyway. I think the best challenge gamestart is Jedi Survivor. No, I don't have a discord currently.
I used the Jedifighter to pass republic space towards the not owned Sector Alpha something, jumped the cruiser there with the other ships docked, so that the pirates that swarm republic space dont destroy it in V Delta, then went through to unknown sector gamma with the Jedifighter, where i set up my stations and start production, i would only like to get some more freighters with xl cargo capacity for courier jobs.
Can someone tell me how much your faction relation improves via trade and pirate/xenon killing
Trading for strictly faction relations does not seem to be worth it. I'm having much better luck using a group of M6s to kill xenon in faction space. It goes pretty quick killing Xenon. I say Xenon, because it's pretty well worthwhile to befriend the pirates (same method.)
I cannot tell you %s gained for specific stuff but, killing Xenon is the way to do it imo.
Yeah, i tried killing xenons, but none of the territories close to me got attacks from xenon, other then the pirates and in five hours i got to 40% with trading, so it is possible. As with the most wanted start, i cant just go into a sector, as i will also be attacked, that is why i waited, but i got lucky to find some abandoned ships in a pirate sector and was able to install some shield and weapons on the bulk cruiser you got at the start, so i am pretty sure, i can do some fighting now
When I get on the game, The ships are called "ReadText - (random numbers)
When I get on the game, Ships are called "ReadText - Random numbers" and ships are called by base game names but modeled differently
Sounds like an installation issue. Are you talking about NPC ships, your own ships, ships you can buy, or all ships in general? Is it just ships? Wares? Stations?
