So how would the interdictor work in game, just like the phase jump thing (I cant remember what its called right now)but with a ridiculously long charge time for leaving ships? or does it stop ships leaving all together?

That's actually a complicated question to answer, but for human players they do indeed stop all ships in range from jumping, unlike Requiem which used the long charge up times. However, unlike SoGE, Interdictors can only maintain the gravity projection while they have antimatter, and there are other ways to force them to stop, so if you get trapped by them you have a few ways to escape. In short I think it is a far more accurate and balanced representation of Interdictors than in any current Star Wars mod. I'll go into more detail about how it works later after I describe the other Interdictor units, the Empire technically has 4 of them and each works a bit differently.

Description

The Immobolizer-418 Interdictor Cruiser is one of the most valuable and useful vessels in the Imperial fleet. Built on the same hull as the Vindicator heavy cruiser, the Immobolizer has traded the Vindicator's turbolasers and ion cannons for 4 large gravity well projectors. These allow it to generate artificial gravity wells that completely prevent nearby ships from jumping into hypespace, trapping enemy units so they can be destroyed by the main Imperial Fleet units.

This powerful ability comes at a cost however. The gravity generators take a while to turn on, and the power needed to use them takes most of the output from the ship's reactor core, leaving no power for engines, weapons, shield regeneration or repairs. Interdictors are also very expensive warships, and as such their captains are trained to shut down the gravity generators and let the enemy escape if the Interdictor sustains too much damage, rather than risk destruction of the ship.

When not using their gravity well projectors, the Immobolizer is not particularly useful in battle, though its 20 quad laser cannons and numerous tractor beams give it excellent defenses against starfighters, and can work will with Lancer Frigates and its own small TIE Fighter squadron in hunting them down. It struggles against most frigates and all larger ships however, though such valueable vessels are at least well shielded.
