Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. One of the minor problems you may have noticed in the first alpha version of the mod is that weapons would often fail to impact on Star Wars ships' hull. I'm glad to report that Alpha 2 will fix this issue, so blasting the heck out of a Star Destroyer should now be much more satisfying.
Awesome and is that new shield Fx or am I just blind when I'm playing the mod currently?.
None of the Star Wars ships will have shield effects, since you never seen them in the original trilogy and I want to keep that style. The blue stuff is the ion cannon impact effects you never got to see on Star Wars ships because of this bug. :p
I never really noticed the star destroyers not having hull impacts, mind you I never really kept an eye out for them. This is certainly going to make the mod much prettier. Ship to ship combat as the Empire should look much nicer now, judging from the effects in the screenshot. I'm sure the weapon impacts from Turbolasers and Concussion Missiles will look fantastic.
They had some basic effects in the LA games. But even these were somewhat lacking.
I'm wondering, how much of a lag spike will those cause? x)
I mean, when I put fleets of about 30 star destroyers hammering each other, that one was quite a drag on my computer :D
If that turns out to be a big issue, we can always get rid of them for frigates, so that only capitalships, titans and starbases have them. They're the only ones you really notice it with anyways.
