Any advice on how to play larger maps without the game crashing would appreciated. I was trying to play the atlas map and I also tried the huge starwars random. Would turning off the graphics improving mods like sins re or BGM help? Or would using the turn off vanilla factions help reduce the amount of memory used? I enjoy large maps and they work fine in E4X regular but I have not been able to complete one with this mod. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The first thing to try with random crashes in game is to reduce your "Ship/Planet/Structures" detail settings. This will reduce the RAM usage of the game, and is the most frequent cause of crashes.

Removing Vanilla factions might also work to reduce RAM. I don't have a lot of experience with this myself however since I usually have all factions on, but in theory it might work.

The Graphics mods might increase RAM slightly but mostly they make your graphics card work harder. If the other two steps don't work you can try disabling them, especially if your graphics card is relatively weak.

Thanks for the reply.

Thing is I have a 3080TI card with 8gb of ram on the card and 64gb of ram on MB. I don't think it is hardware. I think it is the 32 bit issue with this game. Are you able to run the settings on max and and play large maps?

Indeed, I didn't say it was your hardware. I said it would "reduce the RAM usage of the game".

As a 32 bit game, Rebellion can only use 4GB of RAM. So reducing the graphics settings is to help the game not hit this limit, not because your PC is anywhere close to running out of RAM.

I typically run my settings on higher, not highest. I typically play 4-8 player maps and don't encounter frequent crashes. That said some PCs are way more prone to random crashes than others, regardless of the hardware specs, so your mileage may vary, even though you have a better PC than me. xD

I think with a graphics card with 8 GB of RAM you shouldn't have any problem with the graphics mods. You can still try it to be certain, I'm not an expert on Sins remastered, but it certainly seems more than powerful enough.
