A new mod was released for Galactic Civilizations 2, which is one of the best turn based strategy games to come out lately. The MOD is called Star Trek Vs. Star Wars. It features all the major races and starships from the Star Trek series and the Star Wars movies. If you have ever wondered who would control the Galaxy with a war of Star Trek and Star Wars races then this is the mod for you. Please note: you need the Twilight Arnor expansion pack to play this mod. To install it, just unzip everything to the following directory: C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Galactic Civilizations II - Ultimate Edition\Twilight\Mods\Default

Question: Love some of the designs. Would like to mix some of the ships into the main game you play with the standard species, minus the mod running. How would you do this - what files would be affected?

So if you made a separate mod with those files you would have all the ships from this mod.

Im new to this mod stuff. Im not looking to make a new "mod". Im just looking to add the ships from your mod to the orginal game with the original species/races.
How do I do this? (Sorry - I really neeed a step by step, Im just not that bright :P)

Actually its not that hard, if you already have my mod installed just erase all the files from C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Galactic Civilizations II - Ultimate Edition\Twilight\Mods\Default\ except for the ship files I mentioned above. Play with the mod still on and you will have all the ships from the mod but everything else will be original.

OK! That worked. I can pick the ships as a custom race. They dont show up in the template file / shipyard for the standard races.
Is this possible? Lets say I wanted to play the Terrans or the Dregins but I wanted to fly into battle with a Constitution Class or a Bird of Prey - is this possible?

No that is not possible without making your own mod, but you could play as a custom race with the stats and portrait of Terrans or Dregins and have the ship styles of Klingons or whatever.
