So you watched Star Trek the original and loved every minute of every episode. Now how about to walk the decks of the USS Enterprise, with the original crew, within a computer game? Well, that's exactly what this mod does.
Take the Captain's seat and live a new episode of Star Trek! Play as captain kirk in a brand new season 4 of star trek with gameplay like you've never seen before for a star trek game!
Walk through the decks of the enterprise, visit key locations like the Bridge, Sickbay, Engineering, Shuttlebay, Crew Quarters, Cargobay and Transporter Room, with a unique turbolift system to change deck!
Solve the mystery of Argas. What happened to The Enterprise Crew? What caused the chaos?
Kill hostile aliens on the planet argas as you take on your mission.
Await the next Act.
Play with the new NPCs by spawning them in the console
For some time now there has been a lot of frantic activity on Act 2 followed by sustained periods of nothingness. There are many reasons for this, none of which I am going to go into right now.
What I will say is that Act 2 is closer to being finished than you think and that it offers an even bigger and more immersive TOS experience than Act 1.
However, we have hit a snag. Our coder has had to leave us for a while and we need someone with experience of C++ to help fix some bugs and possibly add a couple of their own touches to our code.
If there is anyone who has these skills and wants to see this mod released, please post below.
Guys, if you want to see this mod released, you are going to have to help us out. We've done SO much by ourselves, all we need is someone who can fix a couple of bugs for us so we can complete the final 15% of Act 2.
Actually, our mapping department has never been "off" track.
Major Tork has provided us with all the maps we need for an asbolutely stunning Argan underground complex.
Its the scripting issue and some problems with gameplay, which could have been solved by an experienced scripter that has delayed us by months.
Also, having invaluable team members desert us also caused the boulder to roll back down the hill and almost flatten us.

Since 2002 we have explored, played and enjoyed mods of all shapes and sizes just like Star Trek: The Argas Effect. We love games like Star Trek: Elite Force that have opened themselves up to modding. Because of communities like Workshop, Nexus, Curse, RTSL, GameBanana and Mod DB, more games support modding today than ever before.
Let's celebrate modding
As mods play a bigger role in the future of gaming, we believe it is important to recognize the effort the teams behind the work put in, giving us countless hours of enjoyment while asking nothing in return. We have the power to change our games and that needs to be celebrated to ensure it remains a big part of PC gaming's future.
It all started
In 2015, when the paid modding dispute left many gamers and modders worried about the direction the industry is headed. Things have since settled down, but we believe it is important to continue this small tradition to show we are not alone in our love for mods, and the open platforms that embrace them.
Mod Appreciation Week
Nothing is more motivating than knowing something you've built is being enjoyed by others. So this week if there is a mod you love on Mod DB (or anywhere else), make the effort to shout out to them, mention and link their mod in a tweet, blog, forum or facebook post with the hashtag #modlove2016 (or click the icons above for a pre-built post).
