Welcome all to STL: The Aftermath.
Firstly, big thanks to everyone that has gone and got themselves a copy of the Map Editor Tutorial (pre release version). We have so far had over 100 downloads from the various sites kind enough to host our files and with more locations yet to come. The Map Editor Tutorial (pre release) has received high praise from all and we thank you for your comments.
Secondly, we can now announce that the Upgrade System will appear in the first release of STL: The Aftermath. This will be an important opportunity for all as STL: The Aftermath will act as a public beta of the forthcoming UUM version of the upgrade system. A special area of the forums has been set up for comments/suggestions on the upgrade system. This is the public's chance to have a say in how the UUM version will be approached.
Third, there will be no ships included in the first release of STL: The Aftermath. The reasons for this as are due to the nature of the Upgrade System and from previous experience working on UUM and TLG, many people like to bring in their own ships so in the first release you can put whatever ships you like into the mod. After all The Aftermath is all about user customization, you have the chance to make your own personal version of STL: The Aftermath. Although not to panic, ships will be offered in later releases and a special thanks to those that have kindly offered ships to be used in the upcoming mod.
Last but not least, work has already begun on our second stage of release. With the first stage out within a couple weeks, the second stage will focus on expanding areas already covered in the first release and also incorporate new textures, weapons, ships, game modes and more tutorials plus more.
Also, dont forget to check out the official forums now complete and running smoothly.
