It's the end of the 23rd century, and with it comes a new era of cooperation between long time adversaries the Federation and Klingon Empire. With it's loss Qo'Nos is massively affected and an estimated 50 years of life is estimated for the planet, the heart of the Klingon Empire is dying. Description

Based on the older Saladin class, which is now part of the reserve fleet, the Akula was designed and built in the mid 2270's after intelligence reports indicated new destroyer class vessels being produced by both the Klingon and Romulan Empires. The Akula was designed to be easy and quickly produced, in large numbers and to be easily repaired. By the mid 2280's a large amount of Akula's were in service.

I took the opportunity to slightly re-design the Akula as I did with the Abbe. This included adding in a shuttlebay and some more room for living and work purposes.
