Afternoon readers, firstly, yes I'm still developing the mod! Second, retexturing and bump mapping of the entire game is going well I'm close to finishing but at this time theres no deffinate ETA date just a rough idea in my own mind when I'd like it to be done by. Thirdly, the new beta will be MASSIVE both in download size (this can't be helped simply due to all the new textures and bump maps) and gameplay. The gameplay will be familiar but its been refined and overhauled. Guns will degrade at a realistic rate and require maintinence, you can expect to be seeing much more of the Mercs especially if you revisit areas later in the game and you may even see things like Mercs trying to take over military strongholds, new tasks and Stalkers attacking Duty to name but a few things.
Now, to the main point of this update; Minimum and Maximum recommended specs to run TK smoothly. Its not for sissies ;p
Minimum Specs:
AMD Phenom2 X2 or Intel Core2Duo
2x2GB PC6400
GTX560 Ti 448 or HD5850
Latest DirectX, Sound & Graphics drivers
6.6GB+ HDD space
Recommended Specs:
AMD Phenom X6 or Intel i7 2600K
2x4GB PC12800
GTX580, GTX670 or HD7950/70
Latest DirectX, Sound & Graphics drivers
6.6GB+ HDD space
As you can tell by those specs, TK is not for those with weak systems. This is due to a number of factors including such things as all of the new high quality textures and bump maps and re-enabled and optimised as best as possible features like Global Illumination. This build of TK when released will be in most terms the "full fat" version, you'll see TK as never seen before bringing 2012 standards to a 2007 game engine. I'm also working on a few other things with another modder but for now thats all I will say on that and let you all discover those things for yourselves when the new build comes out ;)
