The envisionment of SIN is to bring you what was promised by GSC for STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, instead of the gutted retail release we were left with. SIN aims to cover every aspect imaginable from gameplay intended to genuinely scare the player, to graphics for the absolute best visual experience, cut mutants, absolute realism, optimisations, stability, and a complete game mechanics overhaul, all without breaking the story. The idea is to present the player with a complete retail experience for the purist that liked SoC but wished it was far more fleshed out. In no way what so ever does SIN try to be like old beta or alpha builds of SoC, SIN aims to enhance everything SoC already has and give it continuity with CS and CoP - nothing more, nothing less.

Report RSS New TK build incoming

Its been like what, 2 years since the last TK build? Theres been a lot of refinements and changes, and I'll likely have to release a patch or two to catch things I've missed, but its almost ready.

That "time" is fast approaching, I've almost finished making all the refinements and even managed to keep to the goal of injecting SoC with everything that got cut from all the beta builds (with the exception of cars.. because the levels are way too small for them). So this is it, the next TK: Singularity release will have that fabled "Final" tag as all the groundwork will be done. Thats not to say I'll abandon TK though, any bugs I've missed but later find or people report to me I will fix and there will still be a few aspects that will get updated after release. Heres a list of how things stand;

To be finished before release

Textures - Finished, except for one set of textures that just never seemed to come out right because of the shitty tiling X-Ray has but I think I've got the ideal source material now to address the tricky problem this set of textures creates in-game. If all goes well, the final result will look quite different to anything you've seen before.

2-4 weeks, tops. I'll try to finish off one or two things listed here ready for release.

Still trying to find people to do

Expanded Story - Not totally rewritten, simply the vanilla story expanded and elaborated upon with a much more appropriate tone to the world Stalker is (namely, dark and brooding). I'm on the verge of totally scrapping this idea as nobody has stepped up (Sorry guys, I'm not about to do this as well as all the other stuff I've done...) so if you REALLY want this done, now is the time to step up or bug those you know who you think may have interest in doing it.

Features to be updated post release

Wet Surfaces - Currently implemented and working, but needs fine tuning. My fault its not totally finished Meltac has been waiting for me to release a build which I've been ever increasingly picky about.

Features to be added post release

Blowouts - Will be released as a add-on once any reported bugs with TK itself have been ironed out and the shader work is completed. Why? Some people just don't like blowouts.

Engine Updates

Patch 1.0008b - Will be issued as a update for TK as I won't have time to test it thoroughly so if it does totally screw up TK its not going to destroy the mod.

With this done, and what I anticipate to be only minor bugs to correct I'll ride off into the sunset to focus on other goals. I'll still be around though just not as often so if someone needs to get hold of me I will get back to you at some point.

The story writer(s) have free roam on this really, I like to encourage creativity, and imagination. Use real science, existing lore, science fiction, or a mix of all of the above I really don't mind. I'm sure you have read the text while playing SoC and realised a lot of things aren't really explained beyond "Go here, do this, come back" thats the kind of stuff I mean by expanding on the story and elaborating. Same sort of thing applies when asking NPCs about the latest news, feel free to make the stories as dark or as humerous as you want. Variety is a good thing :)
