The envisionment of SIN is to bring you what was promised by GSC for STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, instead of the gutted retail release we were left with. SIN aims to cover every aspect imaginable from gameplay intended to genuinely scare the player, to graphics for the absolute best visual experience, cut mutants, absolute realism, optimisations, stability, and a complete game mechanics overhaul, all without breaking the story. The idea is to present the player with a complete retail experience for the purist that liked SoC but wished it was far more fleshed out. In no way what so ever does SIN try to be like old beta or alpha builds of SoC, SIN aims to enhance everything SoC already has and give it continuity with CS and CoP - nothing more, nothing less.

Report RSS Media drop incoming...

So, apparently moddb doesn't bump mods like it used to it seems so now I have to create an article just to let you all know theres going to be a media dump so you don't miss it.. for the love of god don't become like youtube moddb.

The summary gives you all the gist of things, it looks like moddb doesn't bump mods the same way it used to when adding videos/images so I need to create this news article just to tell you all so you don't miss it that theres going to be a fairly large media dump over the coming days. What will this media dump contain? Well I haven't been ignoring what you have all been requesting for, well, years now - updated weapon models, sounds, animations etc. Listening to what you guys want and combining it with the direction of the mod is part of what will make Singularity what it is, loath be the developer that ignores their fans requests and feedback. To that end I have busily been working away at porting over weapon ballistics from old singularity files to new files seemlessly integrating them with a plethora of updated weapon models. Where possible I've kept the original vanilla directory structure as Singularity aside from being the single greatest SoC mod ever created when its finished is also intended to be a modders resource. The new imported weapon models and animations are primarily from Kingfridays SRAP project but textures, normal maps, ballistics, AI behaviours to weapon sounds etc are all different literally no stone is left unturned in any aspect of Singularity. We might not be the first to do something (and usually aren't), but we will be the best.

Over the coming days you can expect to see videos of weapons being tested, a bit of a jaunt around a pre-alpha version of a new Cordon, and something which for now I'll refer to as "brainbuckets" so stay tuned folks, the ensuing days are going to be full of videos testing updated aspects and new features.

Thanks for the news can't wait to see your work. Btw personally I can't really blame moddb for not bumping mods that stay months with no news (not saying is the case with yours), they need people to browse the site to gain money from publicity and mods on the front page showing pretty old news (I'm following games and mods that don't give signs of life for years) is not desirable, why, because makes people think the site is dying and so stop coming to the site everyday.

People making mods and games published here, need to post more news, even if is just to say they are alive.

Videos hopefully will trickle in at a few per day I'm debugging while updating things, altering others, and adding new features and content.

The problem with moddb is that devs can upload a huge amount of screenshots and videos but none of that counts toward bumping the mod back up the list only news articles appear to count which is pretty stupid... very stupid actually now that I come to think about it some more. Its not hard to have an algorithm that prioritises mods based on when the page last had something added to it, ergo, how it used to be done :p
