Call of Misery started as an unofficial port of Misery 2 to Call of Chernobyl but has since gone on to add its own features and changes. There are now many addons for CoM itself, most of which are released in Russian. This mod has CoM and some of the popular addons for CoM along with some of the translations for them. Credit will be given in each mod and addon to the creators and translators.

It's more funny than a bug, but I was playing a bandit with this mod and got a cease fire with Freedom through beating the cheeki breeki out of them, but still had a mission to claim their territory..

So I stealthily took some members out without being spotted. I stayed cease fire with freedom but somehow Cook saw it and was hostile.

All normal so far, HOWEVER,

I then trapped cook in the kitchen and introduced their shins to my knife till they fell over. For some reason, they surrendered and I was able to get all their weapons in their trade inventory via the surrender dialogue option for it.

Even funnier, I treated their shins to the same treatment again because they were hostile, they fell over, and I was able to give them a medkit to turn them neutral.

FOR SOME REASON, he let me sell all the half broken guns and knives back to him for the duration of my stay.

Thanks guys for using this mod!. After testing it for a while now, I coudn't find issues (besides XRAY going full-retard mode) so I conclude that it's stable enough for normal use. I might release another addon soon.

Yeah its extremely Stable, iv been doing Limited life runs, burning through different characters and its only made my game amazing, 0 Errors. Cant wait for some more DX Mods !

It was implemented in a newer version of Call of Chernobyl, and is not part of the DoctorX Dynamic Factions addon nor Call of Misery mod.

Hello, first thank you for your mod.

Then, at first i was under the impression everything was fine then i switched faction to clear sky (from loner).

I have that addon installed that give me the amount of influence i have with each faction when i complete a quest.

Well everytime i do a quest for clear sky, my influence reset to 0.

I mean i take 2 quests, i do the 2 quests, i come back i get 50 influence then 50 again and am at 100.

I take another quest, when i deliver it i am back to 50 instead of 150. I never raise with them. I ll test what s up with the other factions.

Note that before that bug everythng worked well i was able to go to above 400 with duty before changing to cs and unlock the duty seva.

As a side note im not cure it is due to your addon, it seems posible to me but maybe im wrong in which case i apologize for botehring you.

I checked with military and a new quest brought me to 50 factions so i guess no matter what or no matter the factions my relationship with them do reset.

I ll stry desactivating the addon and see if it s the same

Edit: of course disabling the addon does reset my faction with everyone... arghhh

I ll try to reactivate it after disabling it to see if i m able to gain faction again. Before that i ll do 2 quests for a faction to see if withjout the addon i can earn faction. Will keep posting
Side note, is there a console command to see my faction witrh everyone?

If i disable it, all relations reset and i can gain relation again while doing quests.

After resetting relation this way i ll reactivate it and see if i can gain relation again. sigh

Noob question in coming, I have this installed, now does it have a faction table at all so you can see the relations or is it just find your own way if they shoot at you you shoot back?

Sadly not. When you start a new game, you can see in the character creation who'll be friendly, neutral and hostile to you. Write these down somewhere, and also whenever the relation changes (announced as a news message on the left side of the screen!)

How often do relations cahnge on average? I'm not a fan of factions going to war and then being friends again within five mins then going back to hating eachother again in half an hour. I think I used dynamic factions once before but that was my issue, maybe it has been updated?

I do not know the specifics, as I only ported his work to CoM. In my playthroughs so far, a scenario that you described didn't happen.

I did like 12 quests for Mercs as merc, also several quests for loners but I still have no goodwill at all
(I swapped supplies2 and supplies3 to 1 value, traders still sell only supplies1)

Help, I need to buy seva :3

doing quests for a faction's enemy makes them dislike you and your faction. You likely undid any good will with the loners by helping the mercs and visa-versa.

as the name implies, the relationships between factions change dynamically. This means that if the military and duty fight enough they will declare war on each other or duty could declare a cease fire with freedom for a few days until some squads start fighting again and the war restarts. That sort of thing.

Is reputation gained with a faction (whether your faction or another faction) from killing members of other factions based on the current relationship with that other faction? For example, if I am a Mercenary and currently at war with Clear Sky, do I gain or lose reputation from killing Clear Sky members, given that Mercenaries are typically neutral with Clear Sky? My main point of contention is that I do not want to lose reputation gained with Mercenaries through quests, etc. by killing members of other factions that are currently at war with Mercenaries, but typically are not (i.e. at the start of the game).

Edit: Also, does the mod permit building reputation with faction traders to access higher level inventory items or does it get reset every time faction relations change? Specifically, I would want to be sure that as a Mercenary I can build reputation with Dushman and not have it decrease / reset when faction relations change. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Better late than never but I believe it works like this:
1. Your reputation and relation is different for each faction. You don't lose reputation by attacking enemy, only relation. If you kill enemy you don't gain reputation in any friendly faction also. Script changes relation additionally when you or AI kills someone, no reputation is changed. If you or AI from your faction kills Clear Sky then relations between all factions do change like this:
- all enemies of Clear Sky do like your faction more
- all friends of Clear Sky do hate your faction more.
I believe it does depend on current faction relations, not the ones at game start. If you want to be friend with Clear Sky again you have to start killing their enemies.

2. This is thing I am most unsure about, how relation depends on your reputation in game itself. Because this script doesn't edit reputation other than changing minor values in game_relations.ltx. Also I am not sure if traders give you better inventory items based on relation or reputation. These are things I did not check in code.

You mean reputation or relation for certain faction? Relation do reset randomly on purpose if it is > 5000 or < -5000. If you want to change that you can edit: gamedata/scripts/game_relations.script.

Find in that file this line: "-- Calculate new faction relation value, randomly reset if pegged:"
and remove it together with everything below until line "-- Set overall faction relations:"

Ops, small issue, remove everything between these 2 lines except this: "local relation = (old_1_2_relations + delta)"

Rest does reset relation for bigger values if certain random conditions are met.

I am currently editing faction relations to my needs. I find it too easy that whenever I kill enemy then all factions who were at war with killed enemy do like me more. After short time of killing bandits all other factions are friendly. ;)

Instead I've decided to depend on how already it works in game (but disabled) and relations are getting better with enemy only if I help enemy during combat (for example by killing friendly firing at enemy). I use DRX DF script to only change relations if AI are killing each other (which is probably not calculated in game without DF script). This, together with full alife will give hopefuly much better experience.

Changed idea, both AI and player should influence relations.

I changed the script that it now only influence certain faction if there is stalker of that faction nearby. For instance:
-loner kills bandit
-if other bandit is nearby then relation between bandits and loners is worsen
-if merc is friend of bandit and there is merc nearby then relation between mercs and loners is worsen
-if military is enemy of bandit and there is military nearby then relation between military and loners gets better

Original script does change relations even if there are no stalkers of that faction nearby.

Kahvana what do you think about this idea?

I can share the improved script if anybody wants.
